Dallas/Ft. Worth Winter 2017 Nurse Residencies

Hi Everyone-

I wanted to start a tread about the Winter 2017 (starting Feb 2017) nursing residency programs in the DFW area. This can be just a general discussion of what residencies you applied for, which ones you have had a phone screening or interview for, and any job offers anyone has received!

I've applied for several THR positions, Baylor ICU, JPS, UTSW, and Parkland ER. I got an offer from Baylor but I also just interviewed with Parkland. I really want the Parkland position because I like the ER. My status changed to "offer in progress" for Parkland yesterday but I haven't received a call. I wish I knew what that meant...like is it referring to my application status or the job status in general? Any thoughts???

Applied to THR Dallas, THR Fort Worth, JPS, Baylor UMC. Interviewing with all 4; interviewed with THD Thursday, THR Ft worth Today, JPS tomorrow, Baylor Nov 7th. We'll see how it rolls.

A friend of mine interviewed for Children's perioperative, and just accepted a job offer.

Has anyone tried HCA hospitals in the area? They have internships as well.

HCA hasn't posted many of their jobs yet. I'm told not until November which is very late in the process!

I completed my interview for UTSW and just got an email from Methodist for an interview. Anyone know anything about Methodist? Also I haven't received any info from JPS. Do they sent out emails to let you know if you haven't been considered for the program? I got an email asking for references and an essay but that's it.

Anyone hear from Dallas Children's for the PICU/TICU or any other critical care jobs? I have another job offer but they were my top choice.

I'm in the process of interviewing with THR, waiting for a possible offer from children's dallas and I recieved an email today from JPS for the units that want me to interview after the panel interview I had last week

Hi everyone, i was wondering if anyone here interviewed for the Neuro ICU resident position for Parkland? I just interviewed with them this past Tuesday and was told the offers should be extended by today... any info about this would be greatly appreciated! Thankssss!

I'm not sure. We have people who have accepted offers there (Parkland), but they're going to the ER. Something that seems to be typical is that each department/unit has their own hiring timeline for residencies/internships (or other positions).

I ended up accepting a position in Fort Worth. I prefer not to advertise my work location in public forums though. If you're working in Fort Worth, let me know, and I'll tell you where I'm going, privately. Maybe we're going to the same place.
