What career can I transition to? This time I am sooo done with nursing. I am sick of the doctors arrogant and using me as a punching bag.. I am done with managers who are beyond stupid.

I want to be a truck driver, but I know nothing about mechanics and trucks. I just want to be alone in my truck all day everyday.

What other careers could I do? What do other nurses that leave nursing do?

There are a TON of other positions you can use with your people skills, knowledge, documentation skills, etc.....OUTSIDE of those areas you are tired of!

How about somethile like a Nurse Investigator, Nurse Navigator, insurance industry nursing, Nurse and Sales, Nurse and Marketing........sooooo many! You have worked hard for what you have, now simply use it differently :)

anything. what did you do before? even as a tennager? does that appeal to you now? retail, restaurants. look up how to obtain a cdl if you are interested in truck driving. seems like a greAt way to see the country's highway system. what about a job in the hospital but not as a nurse? in my old state you could teach in private schools if you had a bs degree even in nursing . i cant think of many nurses i know who left . the pay keeps most around forever. one became a teacher , pharmaceutical sales, and i think kate gosslin and tera patrick were nurses way back when i read that somewhere

Once you cool down I'm sure you'll feel differently. Lots of nurses talk about finding another profession. Few actually do. I know a couple nurses who used to be truck drivers. I've never heard of a truck driver who used to be a nurse. There's a reason for that.

Instead of quitting, why not change your approach? Stick up for yourself. I've hung up on doctors who yell at me or belittle me. I didn't get fired. The world didn't come to an end. I don't care how much pressure they're under or how much power they have. Nobody talks to me that way. At least not twice. What have you got to lose? You want to quit anyways, right?

lol you are funny if you think you can be alone all day in your truck and avoid stupid people you are in for it, lol the dispatcher will have you done in less than three months. any time you move away to run from your problems they find you because you are not leaving the prob YOU are the problem(nothing personal) you have to find a way to deal with things differently or any field you go into you will eventually run into the same issues again , just my 2 cents

My husband has been a long haul truck driver for many, many years. Do you realize how many crazy drivers he has to deal with each day, crazy drivers who put HIS life at risk? And it's only get worse as time goes on thanks to texting. Believe me, you're never truly alone on a truck.

Luckily for you, they'll put ANYONE in a truck nowadays. It used to be you actually had to know something about mechanics and customer service and the industry you hauled for. Now they'll send you to a few week long trucking school, throw you in a truck, and give you 30 cents a mile.

I don't recommend it, personally, but you can see the country!
