Anybody apply to Cypress College or is planning to? I was dumb enough to go the first day, and even though I was a half hour early, I ended up waiting a good 4+ hours for an application. Probably not the best set up I've seen, but whatever, this is the school I want to get in! So, here's the thread for Cypress, and wishing nothing but the very best to all us 2011 hopefuls!

jan 19th is the first day of class, i'm pretty sure. As for the TEAs. don't you just have to "pass" it?

I guess so. Everyone keeps saying that it's not difficult to pass and not to stress over it. I just know that I need to review stuff like the math and science.

Yeah, I can't remember the last time I took a math class 0=)

So where do you guys live? I live a little far away (Irvine) and was debating on whether I should move or rent a cheap room near Cypress. It's not that I won't be able to wake up at 6 in the morning, but driving is a %#(%@ in the morning haha!

damn.. guavaturtle i feel you on that. Commuting everyday from Irvine is gona be a hassle hahah.. i'm lucky to live right next to Cypress College, so i was hoping to get in since it's convenient to go to a well reputable program that's so close by :) Did you guys buy the book for TEAs preparation?

what's the "passing" score for Cypress? anybody know?

Well, my friend said she'd buy it for me as a xmas gift. =D

Yeah, as for the commuting situation, I'm sort of halfway between Saddleback and Cypress. So I said I'd goto whoever would take me..

I know other schools require a 67 .... I don't know if Cypress looks at the overall score or each score for the four portions?

I live pretty close to Cypress College (about 20 min) so I'm crossing my fingers that as an alternate, they take me in. I did get the TEAS prep manual w/ online assessment. It's $60 but I've heard some people not even studying for the test and they passed. I know I need it though, just to give me an idea of what to expect. Also, I'm a bit rusty with my math and science.

hey schoolie! I'll be crossing my fingers for you too =)

Are you guys taking any classes right now at Cypress? ughh i'm dreading statistics right now :(

no, I'm being super unproductive and taking Japanese and Tennis at IVC. Thankfully I took all of the side classes already, so I only have to take the super duper hard nursing ones at Cypress.

Hahaha I see.. well you're lucky to have a spot in the program for this spring. It really sucks ass being an alternate. Do alternates usually have high chances of gettting in right away?
