Hi just wanted to see if anyone has applied to the RN program at cypress. Maybe we can talk with each other as we sit and wait for a decision. I just applied Sept 1st and am turning in docs tomorrow. We gotta stick together ladies!
Yeah 1 unit is fine and if you want to add more later you can it's pretty flexible. We all used it enough to complete our hours and it's really helpful to have the equipment for wound care and sterile technique. You also will be watching videos and doing assignments there. We also have a great mentor program for 1st semester students that you can sign up for at family night. That's super helpful just to get comfortable knowing you have a person to go to when you have questions throughout the semester.
Hi te1990na there is orientation tomorrow so that's just you then there will be something called family night and there you can bring 1 guest and we will give you a tour of the floor where we have our classes and you will be spending the next 2years of your life. We will be answering questions and you will get your badges and ID's for your uniforms. So they are different things they will give you the date for family night tomorrow if they haven't already. Looking forward to meeting you
I got the study guide it's version 5 which is the most up to date version that is all I used and I'm glad I did I felt more confident going into it. Even though you don't need to score that high it shows you how the test is structured. I will look for it and see if I can find it. Also the books list they give you is really long we didn't use them all we used Taylor Fundamentals immediately so get that one right away and then the Taylor DVDs but they have them in the lab if money is tight. Then 3weeks in you need Ackley nursing diagnosis and your Med Surg which is by Lewis. Of course almost forgot the Pharmacology book and that's it.

Midz the only other class I took was skills lab which is HS 168 you will want to sign up for that because that's where you practice stuff that you've learned. It's an open lab so you just pick how many units you want. I did 1 unit it was 54 hours total which I totally used. What other classes are they offering you? You can only take 191,192 & 193 in 1st semester you can't do 194 195 & 196 till 2nd
