Current medicaid hrly rate for lpn pvt duty nursing in queens, ny

U.S.A. New York

Published

Does anybody know how much can an LPN get for home care as a participating provider in the New York Medicaid Program in the county of Queens? I have been calling Medicaid offices in all five boroughs of NYC and nobody answers the phone, only answering machines ... have left messages but nobody calls me back ... anybody can solve this "mistery"?

Thank you! :nurse:

Hi Lisa1203

you mentioned contract with the family. Just how do that go? Sorry but i know nothing about this so your input would be helpful to me and others. Also, once you answer an ad for a private duty case and both parties agree, do you collect insurance information on the patient.

Do you have to contact the insurance provider to inform them that you is his PD Nurse?

Do you make a chart to stay in the home?

What other paper work would you have to maintain for the patient?

Do the State ever come out to do a visit.

Thanks again.

Nurse Independent Contractors

As a independent contractor can you share how the billing aspect go and do you make a written agreement with the family, and do you bill daily, monthly or weekly?

Also, do you have to contact the insurance provider to inform them that you is his PD Nurse?

Do you make a chart to stay in the home?

What other paper work would you have to maintain for the patient?

Do the State ever come out to do a visit like in home care agencies?

Thanks again

I've been doing this type of work since 2009 n I've had a lot of bad experiences with it. All the info as to required paperwork and becoming a medicaid provider can be found at http://www.emedny.org. I found that this works out better when it's not ur only job and when there aren't 20 other nurses on the case *hint hint*

I'm sorry - maybe i misspelled something - there is no contract with the family. Not at all. Maybe I meant contact with the family?

Hi OneFlyNurz

Thanks for your input. Sounds like a bad experience. I am planning to keep my day job.

NYS Medicaid private Duty Nurses have not had an icrease in rates paid out my Medicaid in over a decade. I found the following link today. It loos as though we need to start sending letters and making phone calls.

What is the range of pay when you're anurse independent contractor? I went on emed to try to find the answer but I didn't have much luck.

sorry i should be more specific- i was looking for the current rates for an RN with experience in home care. thanks!

According to the agency I'm with, the pay rate for my case was 28.81 per hour. I have filed my first billing last Tuesday. I wonder how long will it take till I get paid? :p Just wanna know since I waited almost a month to bill and thats a lot of days

I waited for over 3 months to get a paycheck!

I make $21.89hr. and have a fragile child code, Make sure you enter everything or it gets rejected-especially any prior approval numbers.

If you don't submit by a certain day and time it won't go into the pay cycle. It's a pay cycle of every 2 weeks. I was told by the RN I work with that ours has to be submitted by 6pm on Monday in NY.I submit the minute I get home or by the next day if possible. I started in December of last year and just this month it is finally catching up! It's nice thought o get a couple of thousnd dollars at a time-lol!

The only problem I had is when I first started and they wouldn't recognize some of my info-very frustrating to say the least! There are people to help at emed so just call if you have problems. I called a few times-some are nice ,some are not-just like any other business.

Good luck-hope you have another source of income.:nurse:

So you had to wait for 3 months to get a paycheck? I did my first billing last week on Tuesday afternoon. I'm just waiting to get the mail. I hope I get it this week or something. I'm getting impatient since I waited for almost a month till I did the billing - a mistake I guess since there is a 30 day expiration date.
