Current CNA Pay Range

Can I have some insight on what Nursing Assistants currently make in 2016? If you could tell me what kind of facility you work in that would be helpful as well. Thanks!

I live in Arizona and work in a Rehab Hospital and started with no experience at $12.50.

I work in memory care in Washington state and make 11.50 an hour. .50 is for shift difference. -.- I'm honestly considering getting a different job. The pay is low for the area ($12 - $13, no experience is the norm.)

I work in Long Term Care facility and pay in the Los Angeles area is $10-12

Long term care facility in Long Island, NY starts at $15.51/hour for day shift, $.75 differential for evening shift, $1.25 for night shift. Loads of overtime over 40 hours available and double time on the weekends in the summer.

I work on memory care wing of LTC in northern New England. Base is $13. $3.50 differential for second shift and another dollar for weekends. We also receive extra pay if we take on a shift we were not scheduled for.

I make $9.25 base wage at a LTC in FL

At my long term care facility in Washington, starting pay was $11.17/hr when I started a year and a half ago, now I'm making $12.50/hr and we are union.

I'm in Texas in LTC starting out no experience is 11.05, after 90 days 11.25. And then .50 shift diff.

I'm in Canada and I currently make $20 an hour.I started at 19 but now make $20 after being with the facility for 4 years. However, they're some facility that are owned my the government and you start at $23 an hour

That being said,I'm surprised that CNA's make so little on US reading from other post.

I work in LTC.

Since the pay varies so much according to the state you live in. Think of it this way.

If you work full time, in LTC anyway, you probably have enough (if you budget correctly)to pay your rent and have a decent car and a few other things.

You may not have extra to buy fancy things or go on big vacations.

The biggest bonus you will get from being a CNA before/during nursing school will be the experience you get, even if you work PT or per diem.
