CU Denver Traditional program 2021

U.S.A. Colorado

Published

Hi all! I didn't see a thread for the CU Denver 2021 Traditional program starting in Summer. I am a Boulder grad and would love to get some insight on this program from either alumni, current students, or applicants like myself!

I am hoping to receive an interview. I love that this program does an interview process in order to get to know each applicant on a more personal basis. Anyone out there also looking forward to hearing more about this program?

Hi I am also a boulder grad and also applying for Summer 2021! Good luck on your application! Has anyone received a status update? I am yet to hear anything back. I know they have until Dec 15 to give us an update. I am also looking forward to hearing more.

Hello! Also a Boulder grad ?. Waiting to hear back about the interview as well. Nice to talk to others in the same boat!

Yes! I am glad to hear that I am not the only one.

Hello everyone, looking forward to your journey. I am a current junior in the program and if anyone has any questions feel free to comment. I hope you guys make the interview ?

I have been refreshing my email all day! Has anyone heard an update about the interview? I am so nervous. I am wondering if they send all out in one batch or they depend wether or not you are offered an interview!

Hi everyone! Glad to find this page so we can help and support each other throughout this application process. We got this!!

I just received an e-mail today informing that the interviews will happen on Jan 8 or Jan 15, 2020. They asked me to reserve my interview spot, it’s reserved!

Does anyone/previous students have any information about the interview process or tips on how to prepare for it??

I’m so excited and anxious at the same time.

Hi Guys! I am from Washington State. I just received my email today stating I got an interview for the nursing program. I’m hoping to chat with other students on here and hopefully get to know some people that I could end up in the program with possibly, fingers crossed, since I don’t live in Colorado!

Also hoping to share possible interview questions with one another to help everyone prepare.

Hello,  junior here

As a current student I can say the interview process was intimidating, everyone's really nice and at the end of the day your competing for a spot which is about half of the interviewers give or take. One piece of advice I can offer is just be your genuine authentic self. Don't be afraid to be you and let your personality guide you throughout. There were times when people could tell if your answers to questions were sincere or reheorificed. I would also advise to already establish "Why do you want to be a nurse?" you would be surprised with nerves and pressure how you can just forget your "why".

With this being said, dress nice business casual is appropriate, well groomed, hydrated (cotton mouth is real) and treat this like an interview for a job you really want and come prepared ahead of time. Things are looking different this year as interviews will most likely not be in person rather via Zoom, which in my opinion, changes the authenticity factor. There are many ways to stand out without being the elephant in the room. remember that being humble to your fellow applicants and respectful goes a long way!

I would maybe play around with how Zoom works if you're unfamiliar and have a decent web camera and backdrop that doesn't distract the interviewers attention from you. Finally, please make sure your microphone works before the interview, nothing says unprepared more than when it's your time to speak and you have a technical difficulty (we've all been there for class). I hope this helps! :)

Hi everyone! I also got an interview! I am so excited to interview, but very nervous. I have experience with Zoom for class, but an interview is different! As far as interview questions go do any former students have any recommendations? I know I need to research more into this.

I am also hoping to chat with some maybe future students!! That is awesome that you are moving from Washington State!

I am also trying to prepare for the interview. Zoom really intimidates me.

Thanks for all the tips Gabriel that was so helpful. Are there any other questions you would prepare for besides "Why you want to be Nurse?" This might be too soon, but I am getting excited! Do most nursing students  live near Anschutz or do they live all over Denver? It seems like clinical placements are all over Colorado.

Congrats everyone!! We are one step closer.

Here is a link for their site that I found possible interview questions, so that is kind of helpful! I too am very nervous about the interviews being on zoom. Does anyone know, I know I saw in one of the emails it said it would be small group interviews, what that looks like exactly?

I know all the way from Washington state which would be a big move for me if I got in. And I have so many questions about housing and locations and all that since I don’t live there and am not familiar but I can deal with those issues if I make it through the interview.

Also any other out of state applicants or just me haha?
