CU Denver Traditional program 2021

Published

Hi all! I didn't see a thread for the CU Denver 2021 Traditional program starting in Summer. I am a Boulder grad and would love to get some insight on this program from either alumni, current students, or applicants like myself!

I am hoping to receive an interview. I love that this program does an interview process in order to get to know each applicant on a more personal basis. Anyone out there also looking forward to hearing more about this program?

I’m the 8th too! I didn’t know it’d be such a long day! Makes me even more nervous hahha

I emailed them earlier this week and no reply ? maybe they are busy with scheduling interviews and the holidays? Hopefully they’ll email me back soon!

I am also nervous about the long day! I also got the 8th. I am super excited to learn more about the program. Does it sound like everyone that  there is only one interview and it is a group interview in the afternoon?

I’m with you guys, I’m nervous! Especially because I’ve never done a group interview, I’ve only ever had one on one interviews so I’m not quite sure what to expect or how that looks! But I know I need prep now haha!

Just got my interview date for the 15th! Anyone else? I wish they were in person, so we could actually meet!
Did anyone ever hear what our chances are?! ?

Hi Shannon! I got my interview date for the 15th too. Super nervous about it!

Hi, Juan! I’ll look forward to “meeting” you on the 15th! I’m really nervous, too! I wish the interviews could be in person. Not only because I think it would be more comfortable, but then a few of us could actually meet!!

Hi everyone!

My interview date is on the 15th and I'm super nervous/excited! If selected I would be moving from California to attend.

I really wish I could meet you guys in person!! Good luck to everyone applying ?

Well, hopefully we’ll all get in, and then we’ll get to meet in person! ?

Hii everyone, my interview date is also on the 15th. If I get in, I would be moving from California.

Some of us will be probably placed in the same interview group, I am so excited to meet you all.

Very nervous about this zoom interview process. I was able to talk to a recently accepted UCAN student and she told me that it's a long dynamic where we will be talking to a couple of people including professors and admission people. We will also be placed in small groups to discuss random scenarios and come up with solutions together.

She was not able to remember the questions or scenarios but the piece of advice that she gave was to be ourselves since it is hard to predict or even prepare for the interview.

For everyone having the interview on the 8th, sending you all the best of luck! We got this!

Thanks so much for posting - it is so nice for you to share!

Did the student think that UCAN and traditional is same interview? Is there a traditional interview at all or is there just the group interview where we complete the project/task?

Did they ever get back to you?

I did get a response about how many people they interview vs accept, and she said they interview about 225-250 people and about 110-120 are accepted in the program.

Hi @Sadie508, it's hard to tell if the traditional and UCAN interviews are the same, but they were the first group to have the zoom interview format. So I guess ours will be similar.

Based on what I heard, we will be also talking individually with some professors. That's is why is an entire day of interview, freaking out here haha

@LivM09, thank you for sharing their response with us. Sounds like it's a 50% chance of acceptance.

Thank you for sharing! For some reason, I really thought the cohorts were larger than that! I thought they were close to 200. ? I was hoping for a little better odds, but we’ll all just do our best!! ??

For everyone having the interview tomorrow, good luck! ?

You got this!
Rooting for you all.
