Has anyone seen this addendum on the nursing curriculum packet page 9 for the 2017-2018 school year? I'm really, really hoping they're not adding any more prerequisites because I'm chomping at the bit to leave my current career and another year would be so hard!

"Based upon current curriculum planning these course requirements may change slightly, once finalized a transition plan will be put into place."

@WCSU1987 I also took english and csa 105 at another school and it says "not met" for both, so I'm hoping it'll be in soon. Let me know if you find anything out about that though.

I went in and met with admissions. Squared away everything. Brought in my transcripts and checkred online everything was met. Now all that's left is wait while they calculate my GPA.

Hi everyone!

I read through people's stats in the 2016 forum and I'm feeling even more nervous about being accepted. Also it is still unclear to me what the nursing gpa is. If it is based on A&P I (B), A&P II, chem (A-), and any courses taken that are part of the nursing program, then I believe I have around a 3.45 GPA. Does anyone know if Bio is included? Unfortunately when I started with school, I did not know I wanted to go into nursing and slacked a bit so my grades from that school brought my GPA down. I'll post my stats here. Good luck to everyone!

Nursing GPA: 3.45 (?)

TEAS: 87%

A&P I: B

Still no idea. I think if it's all the classes that show up on the nursing application, then I think I'm at a 3.15 (at the lowest I hope), a B in AP I and I'm taking the TEAS on Thursday. Super nervous about getting in at NVCC.

Good luck on the TEAS! I just took it last week. I wish the nursing GPA was more clear, I'm not quite sure what my GPA is either.

Hi Everyone,

The Nursing GPA is based ONLY on the classes that will count towards your ADN graduation requirements. This includes:

ENG 101 Composition

BIO 211 Anatomy and Physiology I

BIO 212 Anatomy and Physiology II

CSA 105 Intro to Software Applications

CHE 111 Concepts of Chemistry

MAT 137 Intermediate Algebra

BIO 235 Microbiology

PSY 111 General Psychology

PSY 201 Life Span Development

SOC 101 Principles of Sociology

ENG 102 Literature and Composition

HUMANITIES ELECTIVE (Contact school of first choice for list of classes to fulfill this requirement)

** Note: BIO 105 Intro. to Biology (Not included in Nursing GPA)

Also, I saw a question whether or not you should call and check on "Not Met" requirements that you know are supposed to be marked "Met"- I would DEFINITELY call (or email) your school of first choice by Jan. 31st to make sure they have received the needed information!

Hope this helps!

Wonder how Transfer grades factor in and if didn't take Lifespan. Taking Lifespan this summer. I am glad I went into school. There were some misplaced files, but the admissions staff was awesome got everything squared away.

Only classes you've taken will be factored in. I'm taking lifespan this semester. Since it is a corequisite not a prerequisite you're fine. As for transfers they take the equivalent or higher class. My advisor says they calculate the GPA in your favor. Like I took the required math like 9 years ago but got a C and then took stats over winter break and got an A so they will calculate the A in my nursing GPA instead.

Glad to hear that, I had an old math class grade that was okay but I just took stats and got an A in that. I'm wondering what they'll take out of my transfer credits for a humanities elective. I took a couple language classes, but I'm not sure if they'll transfer in since my school doesn't offer the same ones. I also took art history, but I did awful in that, so I'm hoping they don't take that.

Hello everyone,

I am more than nervous about my stats. Dont know if it is more competitive.

AP1 A-

GPA 3.82

TEAS 82.7

Sitting at the testing center waiting to take the TEAS.. freaking out!

Update: 76.7% ..if be happier with it in the 80s
