Has anyone seen this addendum on the nursing curriculum packet page 9 for the 2017-2018 school year? I'm really, really hoping they're not adding any more prerequisites because I'm chomping at the bit to leave my current career and another year would be so hard!

"Based upon current curriculum planning these course requirements may change slightly, once finalized a transition plan will be put into place."

Dumb question.. how do we calculate our nursing GPA? And since all my classes except concepts of chem are transferred in to NVCc from various school in and out of state, do I only use my chem grade or do I find the original grades I received in those classes and calculate that way?

Yeah that's an interesting question, which I don't know the answer to. The nursing info packet says this:

"2.7 Nursing GPA-

based only on the college courses with grades that meet the nursing admission and nursing program curriculum requirements. The Nursing GPA is a calculation specific to CT-CCNP applicants and may differ from your college GPA. (please note: if an applicant is using a course from a Fresh Start semester to meet a nursing admission or program curriculum requirement, that course will count in the calculation of the applicant's Nursing GPA.) "

And so it says that the nursing GPA may differ from college GPA...not sure what that calculation might be

Hello,

I am in such a dilemma 😔 I am looking to apply to Gateway as my first choice and Norwalk as my second choice come Febuary. I have been in contact with Norwalk's nursing director and have shared my stats with him which are: GPA 3.6, A in AP1 and a 68% on my Teas. He mentioned last year the average acceptance GPA was a 3.5. He also mentioned getting an A in AP will help me a lot when it comes to ranking. My dilemma is now my Teas. He said the average accepted last year was in the low 70's. I am now trying decide if I should try one last time on the Teas to improve my school or leave it as if it is. He said scoring a couple of points higher on the Teas won't make a big difference on acceptance but it could make a difference on getting in within the top 60 vs getting wait listed.

I am really stuck on what to do about the Teas. Should I retake it? Or should I let it be since my other stats are so good?

Any advice would be great!

Considering the TEAS last year was a different version of the test, I don't think they can fairly give an average

That is a very good point! 🤔 I wonder if the average will increase or decrease this year...

Retake the TEAS does no harm in doing sol

Took the test a 2nd time 70.7%. First test was 71.3%. Did about the same at least I tried hopefully the score will be good enough.

So I applied to the program. Hoping I didn't screw things up. A lot of courses were transfered over the years while I worked towards finishing my Bachelor's degree. However, it says I completed the required prerequisite classes on my unofficial transcript for NVCC, says TR. Wasn't sure if I can put TR so I put my classes from yonder and my grades from then. Example never took Intro to Computer Science, but NVCC says I did. I took a 200 Computer class. So I put that on the transcript.

Also resent my transcripts from WCSU to NVCC.

Bit worried as everything is red saying "Not Met"; I just sent the application in so things may take some time to upload.

Did you find the 2nd test to be very similar to the 1st test? Someone I know said they took the Teas twice and their second test was very similar to their first test.

I am scheduled to take the test again next Tuesday and I'm very nervous all the the things I am re-studying will not be on the test for the second time.

My English 101 and Computer Classes say are not met, but I had to send my transcripts in again. After class tomorrow thinking going to drop a copy of my sealed transcriptso I found. What I read they said classes not taken in the CC System won't clear till after the

Feb. 1st.

Curious if I have everything set...

I am bringing my transcripts and immunization records into NVCC records tomorrow.

Completed all the pre reqs except AP2. Should I contact the school that I am taking AP2? Would they already know? That's my biggest concern.

My TEAS were accepted.

I should have everything else squared away.

Super neevois.. I take the TEAS on Thursday!
