CSUSM ABSN Summer 2020

Nursing Students School Programs

Updated:   Published

Hi all,

Looking to apply this month for Summer 2020! Anyone else on the same boat? I am currently taking my last class so I expect to update my transcript when grades are posted mid-Decemeber. Anyone from previous cohorts had an issue with this?

I'm a little anxious about my points- I'm in the low 30s but hopefully it will be less competitive in Summer/fall!

Had you already submitted your intent to enroll? I submitted mine within a few minutes of seeing my status change last night, so I don't know if I should expect an email or not.

no I hadn't, I remember reading a comment earlier in the thread about not accepting before they sent an email or you wouldn't get an email

We are so close with our 32s agh

I got in with 33 points today too! I’m going to accept as of now, but if I get into my local CC I’ll go there instead.

Hi, I got into the summer 2020 cohort, and would really appreciate if someone could answer a couple questions. I did not go to an info session, so I am unclear and I am sorry in advance if this has been asked and answered already.

First, I took nutrition, anthro and ethics at the UC I graduated from last Fall. Do I need to take any of these classes again the first semester of the ABSN program?

Second, I applied for Fall 2020, but was offered Summer 2020. (My score is a 33). I want to start in the Fall because I have a wedding I planned to attend in Europe in mid-June. Tickets bought, all activities planned (I am in the wedding). What are the chances being able to postpone the start date until the Fall? I do not want to jeopardize my acceptance into this program as I am beyond grateful for this opportunity. TIA.

If your evaluation sheet is marked that the 3 classes are met, I don’t think you would have to retake them. So, maybe double check your evaluation sheet on that.

If you were accepted for Summer but want to start in Fall, I think you would have to decline the offer and ask for your application to be reconsidered for the Fall cohort.

Anyone please correct if I’m wrong on either of these answers ? but I hope this somewhat helps ?

You should still be able to accept for summer cohort but if the first three classes are completed you just wouldn’t start classes until fall.

I also took those 3 classes at a UC and was told I needed to retake them during my first semester at San Marcos. They make you retake them if you didn’t take them at CSUSM specifically.

They don’t let you postpone or defer. You’d have to decline admission for Summer and keep your application for Fall!

For anyone that has been admitted already, other than the admissions email, have you received any other emails? Like, will they send an email about our student emails and how to activate it? My student center status says "Ready to enroll," and I don't really know what I should do next other than wait for them to send more info lol. I don't know if we should be starting the Complio stuff.

Yes, I set up my email on Jan 30, and then I received information to start on Complio Feb 14. I would reach out to them and check.
