CSUSM ABSN Summer 2016

I thought I would start a thread for CSUSM's ABSN Summer 2016 Nursing Program - for anyone who's taking pre-requisites, has applied to or is in the process of applying, and for support to those who become accepted (to connect with each other). I am from ABSN Cohort 19....good luck and let me know if you have any questions.

Hey Everyone... Just a little update. I received my evaluation on 12/21. However, because my B.S. Degree doesn't confer until March, I'm unable to be given an official point total until my transcript shows my conferred degree and likely have almost no chance at getting in for Summer 2016 as they may not be dishing out any more acceptances by then. Based on the prerequisite GPA they gave me, my official TEAS score, and my own last 60 GPA calculation, I'm sitting at 34 points. My evaluator did although say that my application is competitive, will be rolled into the next cohort (Fall 2016), and will be reviewed again without having to re-apply. Thanks for the update. With your points, they should just grant you a conditional acceptance, but at least you won't have to reapply and you can spend a little more time enjoying your freedom haha.

@gyp13sy yeah I was hoping they would just grant a conditional acceptance too! Hopefully I still have a chance for summer, but it's still looking relatively good for Fall. I've applied to several other schools too though, so just doing the waiting game! I should hear back from other schools by february.

@KO_1219 Thanks for the update!! Hopefully you have a chance for the summer! Reading through previous pages for past summer cohorts, it seems that people were still finding out about acceptances in March :) so you still might have a shot!!

Hi everyone! I'm also applying and working on the app right now. I couldn't complete the app before the Summer priority deadline because I didn't take my TEAS until yesterday. Glad it's over with and I'm really happy with my score :)

I have a question about the app. Did you all put "Yes" or "No" when it asked if we have transferable units? None of the units from our previous bachelor's degree would be transferred to the ABSN program, so we would mark "No," right?

@whimsicality I'm looking at my application right now and next to where it says "Do you have transferable unit?" it's blank, so I think I put NO. Sorry that wasn't too helpful :/

Also, since they still have the application open for Summer you should still try to apply and submit it for the Summer cohort :)
