CSUSB Fall 2016

Published

I realize it may be early, but I wanted to start a thread for the CSUSB Fall 2016 nursing program hopefuls. I'm sure we will all have a lot of questions about application deadlines, letters of recommendation, points, TEAS, etc. It will be nice to have a community where we can ask each other questions and offer advice. Eventually we can share stats, and we may even end up in the same cohort!

I don't have a councilor I don't go to csusb.

And how do u calculate the scores

GPA - 30 points possible

3.00 - 3.05 = 11 points

3.06 - 3.10 = 12 points

etc...

Increase by 1 point every 0.05 until you reach the maximum (3.96 - 4.00 = 30 pts.)

TEAS test Version V - 15 points possible

70.0 - 71.9 =1 point

72.0 - 75.6 = 2 points

etc...

(Maximum points possible 98.0 -100 = 15 points)

Group Pre-Advising (Informational Session) - 1 point possible

Bilingual Proficiency - 1 point possible

Letters of Recommendation - 2 points possible

1. Character

2. Academic

County of Residence - 5 points possible

TOTAL POSSIBLE: 54 POINTS

😂😂😂 . I have a 38. That won't get me in even with my 4.0

So good luck to the rest of you

well I got some sad news this week. The university doesnt take the new grade for any retakes of classes. So those C's I got and retook for A's lowered my GPA a bit. So, this makes me ineligible to be admitted as a pre nursng major. :( I'll just see this as it wasn't meant to be at CSUSB. I'm not giving up! I wish each and every one of you luck in your nursing careers!

Oh no! I'm so sorry to hear that. That really stinks :( Your positive attitude will get you far. I'm sure you'll be in a program in no time. Best of luck!!!

How is it that we still have 3 1/12 months' wait... lol. It's an eternity!

I know right! I wonder why CSUSB SON takes so long to notify us... :( Also, I noticed that we're supposed to confirm our admission and send in a deposit to CSUSB by May 1 but we won't hear from SON until after that right? So would we have to make the deposit and then hope we actually get in to SON? Anyone know?

Yes, we've been admitted into pre-nursing, so basically we have to pay our intent and hope that we get into the nursing program :( if we don't get in, we can start taking some of the upper division classes we need, and then reapply in winter. Winter is only for current CSUSB students, so it's an advantage cuz it's a smaller pool. It does stink cuz I know most of us have applied to other schools. The timeline doesn't really make sense for us in that aspect. I'm going to pay my intent to keep my options open. Not ideal. But what's $100 in the scheme of things... I guess lol

I know what you mean... I already got accepted to CSULB and am waiting with everyone else to hear from CSULA *crosses fingers*, but I was kinda wanting to keep my options open too. Well, I guess we have until May 1 til we have to make the deposit so I'll have some time to decide at least.

Congrats on LB! I'm surprised that's not your first choice!!!
