I realize it may be early, but I wanted to start a thread for the CSUSB Fall 2016 nursing program hopefuls. I'm sure we will all have a lot of questions about application deadlines, letters of recommendation, points, TEAS, etc. It will be nice to have a community where we can ask each other questions and offer advice. Eventually we can share stats, and we may even end up in the same cohort!
Does anyone know the point system CSUSB uses to rank the applicants? :) I can't find anything online.

Hello, any news on this? I am also applying to CSUSB for Fall 2016
I went to an informational session at the school. They didn't give the exact point ranking system, but they did say that ranking was based on pre-requisite gpa, TEAS score, county of residence, letters of recommendation, bilingual proficiency, and group pre-advising. I found some info online, but I'm not sure how accurate it is.
GPA - 30 points possible
3.00 - 3.05 = 11 points
3.06 - 3.10 = 12 points
etc...
Increase by 1 point every 0.05 until you reach the maximum (3.96 - 4.00 = 30 pts.)
TEAS test Version V - 15 points possible
70.0 - 71.9 =1 point
72.0 - 75.6 = 2 points
(Maximum points possible 98.0 -100 = 15 points)
Group Pre-Advising (Informational Session) - 1 point possible
Bilingual Proficiency - 1 point possible
Letters of Recommendation - 2 points possible
1. Character
2. Academic
County of Residence - 5 points possible
TOTAL POSSIBLE: 54 POINTS
Thanks for the information, would you know about dates for the TEAS and when is the application open? Also, is there a better chance of getting into CSULA?
Fall 2016 application opens in the beginning of January. I'm assuming they will have the info up before that. As far as the TEAS, are you asking when they offer them at SB or when you have to have them in by? Also, it's easier to get into SB vs. LA. Because SB has two cohorts per year, and LA only has one. SB also gives you points for things like county of residence, language proficiency, character references, etc. LA only gives points for gpa, teas, volunteer hours.

I don't live in SB county :/ I'm moving back to CA from GA, my husband is getting out the army so I wasn't able to get to a informational session. But I'm still a CA resident. We are moving back to the Fontana area. If I don't get in Fall then I will hopefully get in for winter.
