CSUSB Fall 2016

Published

I realize it may be early, but I wanted to start a thread for the CSUSB Fall 2016 nursing program hopefuls. I'm sure we will all have a lot of questions about application deadlines, letters of recommendation, points, TEAS, etc. It will be nice to have a community where we can ask each other questions and offer advice. Eventually we can share stats, and we may even end up in the same cohort!

I turned my app in on Friday. When I turned it in, the woman at the desk told me that the average GPA for last Fall was 3.78, and the average TEAS score was 84. She said they will send out acceptance letters mid to late July. The wait is going to kill me! From what I can tell from the threads from previous years, the nursing dept. actually posts a list of who is accepted on campus before they send out the letters. Does anyone currently attend CSUSB who will post the list for the rest of us? :D

Oh, and does anyone know when we are supposed to find out if we are accepted to the actual university?

Hey do you guys know if I can get credit for bilingual proficiency if I took 2 years of a foreign language in high school and I took the AP exam and passed with a score of 4?

By the way my stats are:

-3.86 pre req gpa

-1 letter of recommendation

-88.7% overall TEAS

-Bilingual proficiency? Maybe lol, I have to ask.

-I attended an info session

-I am not from a San Bernardino County

When I went into the office to turn in my application, they said 3 years of high school Spanish or Spanish I & II in college. I'm not sure about the AP exam. You should call and ask. They are very nice! :)

Yes they're very nice. I went to CSUSB to turn in my application and got credit for being bilingual and also my healthcare experience counted as a second letter of recommendation since I only had one.

So these are my updated stats:

-3.86 pre-req GPA

-88.7% TEAS

-2 Letters of recommendation

-Bilingual proficiency (spanish)

-I did attend an info session.

-Not from a San Bernardino County

How do you know your bilingual proficiency is credited? Do they indicate that on the receipt?
