CSUSB Fall 2018 Nursing program

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hey everyone!

I know it may be early, but I wanted to start a thread for the CSUSB Fall 2018 nursing program. I'm sure we will have questions about application deadlines, letters of recommendation, points, TEAS, etc. Eventually we can share stats

This is the point system I saw in another CSUSB thread. Best of luck!

P.s I called today and these are the stats for fall 2017

Average GPA: 8.4

Average teas test: 83%

GPA - 30 points possible

3.00 - 3.05 = 11 points

3.06 - 3.10 = 12 points

etc...

Increase by 1 point every 0.05 until you reach the maximum (3.96 - 4.00 = 30 pts.)

TEAS test Version V - 15 points possible

70.0 - 71.9 =1 point

72.0 - 75.6 = 2 points

etc...

(Maximum points possible 98.0 -100 = 15 points)

Group Pre-Advising (Informational Session) - 1 point possible

Bilingual Proficiency - 1 point possible

Letters of Recommendation - 2 points possible

1. Character

2. Academic

County of Residence - 5 points possible

TOTAL POSSIBLE: 54 POINTS

Hi! Thank you, I am a riverside county resident, I will be accepting the offer.. headed to the office first thing in the morning!

Thank you, im so excited! My stats where 3.6 overall gpa, 3.8 prereq gpa, i had ASL for a second language, i attended the informational session, and an 80.7 on the teas. I got in to the palm desert campus.

Awesome!! What did they review at the informational session? I will be attending on June 6th. I have a 3.3 pre-req, 3.7 overall, 80 on teas, Spanish proficiency, and am a Riverside resident. I am applying for the winter program at SB campus.

They just went over how to apply, etc.. answered any questions that anyone had and explained the application process also what you will need if you get accepted. You have a good chance your stats seem great to me! I also heard winter is less competitive

The info session was pretty much a review of the points listed on the school of nursing website. When I went it was held in their skills lab so it was interesting to me to see the machines students use to learn with. I think they also broke the points down and emphasized that current SB residents get priority. They also explained that some of the rotations could be a little far from the school. Oh, and I think bilingual students were also given preference.

just got my acceptance letter!!

Do you, by any chance, remember the break down of points? I haven't seen anything anywhere on that!

Thank you! I have heard that also, about winter, but I'm still uneasy! Haha.

According to them they don't use a point system anymore. That was one of the questions I asked at the informational session and what I was told

Thank you so much!

Oops, they don't actually use a strict "points" system but did report giving "strong preference" to current San Bernardino residents as well as bilingual students.

Ive heard that its sort of based on best stats now, at least thats how it seems.
