Hey everyone!
I know it may be early, but I wanted to start a thread for the CSUSB Fall 2018 nursing program. I'm sure we will have questions about application deadlines, letters of recommendation, points, TEAS, etc. Eventually we can share stats
This is the point system I saw in another CSUSB thread. Best of luck!
P.s I called today and these are the stats for fall 2017
Average GPA: 8.4
Average teas test: 83%
GPA - 30 points possible
3.00 - 3.05 = 11 points
3.06 - 3.10 = 12 points
etc...
Increase by 1 point every 0.05 until you reach the maximum (3.96 - 4.00 = 30 pts.)
TEAS test Version V - 15 points possible
70.0 - 71.9 =1 point
72.0 - 75.6 = 2 points
etc...
(Maximum points possible 98.0 -100 = 15 points)
Group Pre-Advising (Informational Session) - 1 point possible
Bilingual Proficiency - 1 point possible
Letters of Recommendation - 2 points possible
1. Character
2. Academic
County of Residence - 5 points possible
TOTAL POSSIBLE: 54 POINTS
I contacted the School of Nursing, and they said they no longer consider recommendation letters, they are looking at: TEAS, prereqs, overall GPA, county of residence, bilingual proficiency and the informational meeting. I was not able to attend their informational meetings due to the fact that they had them on the same days as my microbiology class, however I will be rolling over my other documents for Winter 2019!My stats are:
Overall gpa: 3.74
prereq gpa: 3.69
TEAS: 80% (Will be retaking in June for a higher score, hopefully!)
County of residence check!
Bilingual
and I will be attending the informational meeting in June!
I pray to get in this winter quarter, as I hear it is less competitive. However, I will also be applying to SBVC, Chaffey, RCC and Loma Linda. Best of luck to everybody!
I've been accepted as a prenursing major, but I don't know if I will be able to take classes (or what classes I could take while I wait) for the upcoming quarter. does anybody know what happens if you don't get into Fall or Winter? Does that mean you are no longer a student, and I would have to reapply to the school? Or do they have me change majors?
I am also attending the June information session! How do you figure out your pre-req GPA? I also got accepted as a pre-nurisng major and we have to take classes for the Fall quarter. However, if we get into the nursing program (fingers crossed we do) then we start those classes in the Winter. I also got an 80 on my TEAS, but I will not be re-taking it. I heard somewhere that Winter is not as competitive as Fall, though. I also applied at RCC!!
I just calculated my prereq gpa with a GPA calculator , and I calculated the listed courses that I've finished! I wish it was higher seeing that everyone is so competitive! I will be attending SOAR orientation in on June 2nd! It wouldn't let me respond you your message because I'm a new member or something lol. I hope to see you at the informational meeting!
I saw on another forum that a girl with really good stats didn't get accepted for fall but then got accepted for winter. I'm so scared and nervous. But I'm totally okay with getting into an ADN program as well, hopefully I do have that as an option I mean!
