CSUSB Fall 2019 BSN program

Published

It is early, but I thought I would start the discussion now for Cal State San Bernardino's BSN program for fall of 2019 so we all have time to discuss and answer questions before the filing period ends April 2nd, 2019! This is for both the Palm Desert campus program and San Bernardino's main campus.

I am applying to the Palm Desert campus since I am a Riverside county citizen and it is only a few miles from my home :).

  • As of this past filing period and onward, the school no longer considers letters of recommendation or volunteered/paid work experience.
  • At the nursing info session I attended, we were told they are only accepting your first TEAS score. If anyone has heard conflicting information to what I've written above, please let me know!

My current stats:

Pre-requisite G.P.A = 4.0

Overall G.P.A = 3.9

My G.P.A is based on the assumption I get an A in my microbiology class this spring

-I took three years of Spanish in H.S

-I am taking the TEAS in February and will update my score the second I get my results!

-I applied to CSUSB and will update my admissions result when I get confirmation.

Good luck to everyone!

I'm going to do a practice test tonight to see what my score is, then from there try to see where my weak spots are.

I got an 85% ??? I’m super worried about getting into the palm desert campus now. There are only 20 spots. I hope you did well!!

Hey, 85% is not bad at all. I actually got the same exact score! If you want some reassurance maybe call the campus and ask the average TEAS score for last year, as well as the average GPA. Maybe that will give you some peace of mind ? I’m worried too because I know 85% isn’t super competitive but I truly believe that if we are meant to get in, we will!! So just believe !! ❤️

I retook my TEAS and got a 90.7! I am so happy! Good luck to everyone else who is taking theirs!

I called this morning and she said the average was 85%! It's gonna be a loooooooong two months ?

Where did you guys take your TEAs? I am thinking of applying to csusb, I wanted to go to a CC, but I am thinking maybe a state university would be good too!

Do you guys know how they treat course drops and repeats? ( I haven't been to orientation yet) THanks

Good luck all!!

Have you guys sent in your application to the nursing program? I sent mine last Friday and they sent me an email saying they received my application but that my application is incomplete because i did not attend a nursing info session. But I did attend a nursing info session! Has anyone else had this happen?

I dropped mine off in person this morning and they received all the needed documents and searched up my attendance to a info session. That’s so weird that it’s saying that for you. Is there a possibility when you checked in you accidentally typed your name in wrong?

I took the TEAS at the mall near my house in Palm Desert. If you go to the ATI website, they'll give you a list of locations based on your city.

When I dropped off my application off last week, I asked about W's and she said they don't look at them. And as for repeats, they take your first grade. ?

Good luck! I went to a CC for all my pre-req courses but, I'm choosing a BSN program at a university instead of my CC's associates program because it's super, super impacted and a bit harder to get into.

Oh no!! When you went to the info session, did you sign in? We got moved rooms during my info session and they had us sign in again, but this time we signed in on a computer. Before I submitted my application, I called to make sure they had my TEAS and info session filed. If the next info session is after the deadline, I would see if they'll let you attend the next one since it might've been an issue on their end. I really hope they work with you on this :(

You should call the nursing department and let them know you did attend the info session. I am sure they can look it up right away. When I went to the info session, my understanding was they use your date of birth look up if you went.
