CSUSB Fall 2019 BSN program

Published

It is early, but I thought I would start the discussion now for Cal State San Bernardino's BSN program for fall of 2019 so we all have time to discuss and answer questions before the filing period ends April 2nd, 2019! This is for both the Palm Desert campus program and San Bernardino's main campus.

I am applying to the Palm Desert campus since I am a Riverside county citizen and it is only a few miles from my home :).

  • As of this past filing period and onward, the school no longer considers letters of recommendation or volunteered/paid work experience.
  • At the nursing info session I attended, we were told they are only accepting your first TEAS score. If anyone has heard conflicting information to what I've written above, please let me know!

My current stats:

Pre-requisite G.P.A = 4.0

Overall G.P.A = 3.9

My G.P.A is based on the assumption I get an A in my microbiology class this spring

-I took three years of Spanish in H.S

-I am taking the TEAS in February and will update my score the second I get my results!

-I applied to CSUSB and will update my admissions result when I get confirmation.

Good luck to everyone!

Has anyone done the CSUSB transfer orientation yet? Mine’s on June 26th and I just wanted to know what to expect.

I had my T. orientation done at the Palm Desert campus so the schedule/activities might vary. There's no chance of leaving early until you hit the last portion of registering for classes and grabbing your student ID. They do three check ins throughout the day to ensure you don't leave early. The last check in is picking up your student ID. After the hour and a half welcome speech first thing in the morning, you get divided up into "packs" (by major) and then your pack leaders give you a tour of the campus and you go and listen to different faculty give you information on that building/classroom/program. This goes on until lunch (Subway and gatorade for us) After lunch you meet your faculty advisers. Our pack had nursing, health science, and graphic design students since there aren't a ton of students with those majors at the Palm Desert Campus. All the packs then rejoin to go over how to register for classes, Financial Aid etc. Finally, the packs go into separate classrooms with computers to register for classes. Once you finish registering you take the survey, show the pack leader you finished, and then they give you your ID. While I definitely could have figured all of the information given on my own and kind of already did, I appreciated the effort they put into making sure the transfer students knew what to do to make transferring easy and seamless for students and staff.

Hey guys, got my letter of denial today...

Pre-req GPA: 4.0

Overall GPA: 3.9

TEAS: 85.3%

Bilingual

Non-resident

Still happy for all of you who did get in! Congrats and best of luck on your journeys!

I'm extremely positive you'll get in somewhere else with your stats. I think the residency plays a big factor in acceptance/denial. Good luck to you as well!

Anyone have transfer orientation on the 26th?

I had orientation yesterday at the San Bernardino campus and unfortunately we do not get our student ID. It’s definitely a long day but I found the financial aid segment helpful.

See you guys during orientation on 8/5 ☺️

Have you guys enrolled in your nursing classes yet? I’m trying to enroll in all three at the same time but I keep getting an error saying requisites have not been met. ?

When you went to SOAR, did you enroll in general ed classes? Because that happened to me when I first tried to add the nursing courses so I had to first drop two of the three gen ed classes I had previously enrolled in to be able to add the nursing ones. If not, other people were having that issue & one of the nursing administrators had to help them bc I think they were like blocked or something from registering. So you might need to call or wait until next orientation day? Hope that made sense !

Hey! Thanks for the reply! I was able to talk to the office at room 215 earlier today and they were able to sort it out! ? Turns out, I wasn’t the only one having trouble registering. Now all we have to get done, is all of the compliance paperwork lol. Best of luck to you!
