Hi all,

I wanted to start a post on the CSUN ABSN 2020 cohort. Feel free to add any comments or questions regarding the application process. Let’s help each other out! Looking forward to getting to know you all.

Thank you everyone who's been sharing information, it's really appreciated! I also applied and I've been lurking these forums for a while now.

I called this afternoon and spoke with Yvonne. She said that:

1) We should expect to hear from them "mid to late November" (ugh...) about acceptance into the spring cohort

2) If we apply to the fall cohort (i.e. the one that opens in January) we'll need to resubmit everything. I didn't ask specifically about recommendations, but I would assume so.

Thank you for sharing this information. It is really nervewracking but I wish the best for everyone on this long wait. Hopefully, we will still get a surprise and hear sooner. But that's just me being optimistic.

Did anyone else notice that they shortened the application period on the website for the Fall cohort? The deadline used to be in March but they changed it to February.

Yes, thank you for sharing! All the information has been very helpful! I also did notice they changed it!! The application cycle isn’t open for very long at all.

Anyone planning on going to the informational meeting on November 7 for the Fall cohort? The information is up on their website for the ABSN program.

Just planning ahead since I don't know how spring is looking up. I would like to go but unfortunately I live 3 hours away and i'm working. If someone is going can you please post any information discussed ?

Hi guys,

I'm planning to apply for Fall 2020 cohort too, I spoke to one of the representative today and she said that if accepted we will start during summer 2020 (which is around June)

For those who gets accepted for Spring 2020, can you guys share your stats? I want to know my chances on getting in :/

As for my stats I have a 4.0 GPA for pre-requisite and a 3.2 overall GPA. However, I don't have any experience on the field nor the volunteer hours. So any advice for the resume/ prompt would be really appreciated. I was gonna ask about the interview process and all but it seems that none of you guys went through the interview...

Also, How did you guys get your statement of health clearance form?

Hello!

I believe there are no interviews for CSUN's ABSN program (someone correct me if I'm wrong!).

I obtained my health clearance form from a physician, but I believe you can go to a NP to get it completed as well. I called multiple clinics around me and many places considered it a physical, so they charge around $50-$75 depending on where you go.

Unfortunately I won't be able to go either because of work. If someone does go, can you please share information??!! Thank you!! ?

Thanks for sharing! I was also interested in applying for the Fall 2020 program, which its kind of interesting that it would be starting in the Summer versus the Fall.

For me, I brought the form with me to my annual check-up, and my physician signed it then. Since you haven't volunteered at a hospital or clinic, have you gotten copies of your vaccination records yet? You'll need those eventually, and can probably get your health clearance signed at the same time you pick those up.

I'll be happy to share my info once I hear if I'm accepted or not!
