CSUN ABSN 2020

Hello,

Has anyone been interviewed? When I called CSUN, they made it seem like they interviewed some people. He asked me if I have been checking the CSUN portal. I am nervous now. I tried asking more question, but they couldn't disclose any more information.

Oh wow. I have been checking my portal and CSUN email almost every day since the applications closed. I even emailed Yvonne to make sure everything was received and that's about it. Nothing about an interview. ?

I haven’t been interviewed and I have been checking the portal on a weekly basis. I think they have no other information to give out. I really hope they let us know by the end of this month. Is anyone applying to other ABSN/MECN programs?

How did they make it seem like they interviewed people?

I forgot to get the person's name, but it was a male. I asked him if he had any updates, and he said that some people "might" have been requested for interviews. I told him that I haven't heard of anyone getting interviewed yet, and he said "yes, it's rare." So I asked him, so are they conducting interviews? he said "I'm sorry, I cannot disclose that information," He asked me if I have been checking the portal, He made it seem like they have been reaching out to certain people.

I just called again, and spoke with Selene. She said they haven't conducted any interviews yet. We should hear back by mid November.

I think it all depends on who you speak to. Everyone has their own response. I think there's no interviews. I hope we get a response soon. I;m sorry if I worried some of you. I will stop calling them. They are making me more nervous.

Yeah! I was looking into CSULA & Concordia. They all have different application dates and start dates.

I am also looking at CSULA. If anyone hears back, please let us know! We are all on our toes... I’m afraid I’m missing communication but I have been consistently checking my emails and the portal.

Also, yes pleaseee! I was reading previous thread about the program and it seems like i might be okay with my current stat just need to have a really good LORs and prompt but still not confident about my current stat since most people have volunteers experience ?

Hi All,

Congrats to those who have been accepted. I am currently taking pre-requisites for the ABSN program at CSUN. I went there for my undergrad but got a low GPA, got my MPH at a different institution with a higher GPA & have been working in the medical field as a non-nurse since. I completed anatomy, currently in micro & will take physio in the spring 2020 - to (hopefully) apply for Fall 2020.

Do you think I have a chance of getting in given my undergrad GPA was low (~2.8)? I'm not even sure if they look at my MPH.

I believe Cedars-Sinai, most likely Northridge Hospital (Dignity) and other local hospitals around SFV. I only say this because I work at CS & have seen them around

Anyone else checking their email multiple times per day?! ?

I’m also wondering if anybody knows Stats or applied to the Mount St. Mary a-BSN program?

I applied but have anatomy and phys in process (at the same time ?) As my past ones expired. It is looking like I may only swing a C in physiology even though I had an A last time. Do you all think I should drop and just retake it?

I would drop and retake. Physiology is such an important prerequisite class for nursing. I am not applying for Mt. St. Mary’s due to the tuition (EXPENSIVE), but that’s my recommendation.
