  1. Is it like a random building?? I didn’t even consider that we wouldn’t be on the main campus. ? (Even though it says it explicitly on the website.. OOPS ?) Okay... I was wondering the same thing because I was looking at a program in Nevada! They shared some info there and I looked at the CA BRN. It pretty much is up to California if they want to allow us. We definitely will have to apply to California through endorsement. Which means, we have to take the NCLEX in Arizona and be licensed in Arizona as an RN. THEN apply through endorsement for California. CA BRN evaluates our transcripts and license to see if GCU’s program meets the program requirements for CA. If they do, we get approved. If they don’t, we can look at being licensed by examination. Such a confusing process! One person in the other forum emailed the CA BRN and they said the best bet would be to talk to people who have done the process and see where the deficiencies were. Considering this a new program, we don’t really have that option. ? Someone also shared that California programs have to have 800 clinical hours. I didn’t see that anywhere but if it’s true GCU only has 408 hours for the ABSN. I’m going to try to look for CA ABSN clinical hours and compare ? Thank you!! I’m going to look for the app because it’s so nice that it’s on our phones and we can literally study while waiting in line to pay ahah
  2. Hello! I have been trying to find out about how out-of-state schools are qualified by CA BRN. On the website, it says we can apply by endorsement after taking the NCLEX & getting a license in the state BUT also states the program has to meet the CA BRN program requirements. If it doesn’t, you will not be able to be licensed by endorsement. I read the emails that were shared in this thread and it’s interesting that they still didn’t address how you would know if a program meets CA BRN requirements. So confusing! If anyone has insight, can you please share?! Thanks! ps. I attached a photo with highlighted information for reference!
  3. You are totally fine! ahah I graduated from CSUMB which is about an hour away from San Jose, so I'm familiar with the area. ? I'm planning on going to the Sun City location! I saw your other post and I have talked to an advisor. If you can, try to get an appointment with one! They go over all of your transcripts and tell you what transfers over and what you have to retake or what left you have to take. I only had to retake Chemistry for my GPA. I'm planning on taking Pathophysiology through Rio Salado College, a community college in Arizona. The class directly transfers to GCU & is cheaper than taking it there. Christian Worldview has to be taken straight through GCU. I believe an academic advisor has to register you for the course. I'm not planning on taking it until August but can share information when I do! As far as I know, the program is first come first serve. Which is literally a breath of fresh air compared to the competition in California to get into nursing school. ? I believe the first graduating class from the ABSN program will be December 2021. Their traditional BSN program has a really good reputation in Arizona and is highly completive to get into. NICE!! One less thing to worry about! LOL Yes! Can you share study tips for the HESI?? I took the TEAS and assuming it will follow a similar format. I didn't do so well in the English portion, so thinking I should focus hard in that section for the HESI.
  4. Hey! What part of CA are you from? I have to take 3 classes & the HESI! Hopefully I will be taking the HESI later on this month. ?
  5. Hey! I'm not currently in the program. I'm hoping to start at the Sun City location in January of 2022! I have heard some things about the program from people who are in the Spring Cohort and they said it's stressful but doable. They also said they feel very well supported, which is a plus!
  6. So true!! That's what happen for this semester for my Chemistry class LOL
  7. Nice!! Are you taking Nutrition at RCC? I took it last Summer and it was so interesting! I'm planning on taking Chemistry 2A over the Summer and then taking Pathophysiology & Christian Worldview.
  8. What!! No way!! Maybe we can meet up! Are you taking any of the prereqs or GCU specific classes?
  9. Commenting to follow! I am also planning on attending GCU in January of 2022! I will be moving from Riverside, CA ?
  10. Yay! That’s so exciting!! One step closer! Wishing you the best!! ???☺️
  11. The program posted on the website is for Summer 2022 applicants. The program website changed at some point in 2020 and when I went to the information session the person conducting it kept emphasizing that the program posted is for Summer 2022. For Summer 2021, it is a 3 year program and cheaper!
  12. Ahhh gotcha! Yeah, literally what I was thinking so I started scrambling to see if I can apply to any programs that will start in the Fall. Most of the Masters programs you have to apply a year in advance so I’m looking at ABSN programs for now. I’m planning to reapply to CBU but noticed the program changed.
  13. Yes of course! I was just thinking about posting and asking if anyone has heard anything. After March 15th, should we just take it as not being accepted? I was a little confused since they said they will fill spaces all the way up to the first week of classes. Are you thinking of applying to other programs? I have already started the search and applications ?
  14. Thank you for asking and sharing!! Keeping my fingers crossed ????
