Hi all,

I wanted to start a post on the CSUN ABSN 2020 cohort. Feel free to add any comments or questions regarding the application process. Let’s help each other out! Looking forward to getting to know you all.

Yes! That is the new update. I spoke to Andrea yesterday. She says that she feels bad for everyone that is waiting for the email. That is what they told her yesterday. She is only a messenger. I am still hoping it comes sooner, but I guess it's better not to have high expectations.

Did anyone attend the info session yesterday, November 7th? Any feedback on how it went and what they said?

I did attend.

About 400-450 applicants and only accept 45. Total tuition is about $45k. The fall 2020 app opens Jan 7 2020 and closes Feb 25 2020. Application fee is $70. The decision process takes around 8 weeks. No teas required. Point system.

I also need to mention the program director reads posts on this forum. So what you post on here and what you say when you call the admissions office to check your admit status can hurt your application.

Wow, really? I mean I guess if anyone was saying something super terrible I could understand that. But it almost seems discriminatory to not let someone in the program based on their comments on a message board, no? Like does everyone who’s been on here have to worry that expressing their frustration to other applicants will prevent them from getting into the program? Thats what the board is for, to discuss your experience (good or bad), I feel like using it as judgment in tandem with the application seems unfair...maybe that’s just me?

They alluded to past applicants taking their frustration to another level. I probably should have clarified that part.

Has anyone started working on getting loans? I’m planning on best case scenario:)

I believe there is a designated financial officer for the program that helps with the loan process. I forgot his name though!

Do you know if we are allowed to have a prerequisite in progress when applying for the fall program? Im going to take my last prerequisite this spring and don't know If i would just have to wait to apply for the next spring program or if I could apply to fall. Also did they give you guys any pdfs of the presentation or a powerpoint? I sadly got waitlisted but didn't get bumped up to attend the meeting. Thank you for the info!!

Hey. The program director said that all prerequisites must be done by the application due date. Even if you take a winter session class. The final letter grade won't show up on your transcript by the time the app is due. Also if you're taking any other courses not related to the prerequisites in the winter or spring semester, you must tell the admissions office because it will cause problems when they review your app.

They haven't sent us and PDFs or powerpoint. To be honest the PowerPoint was just whatever they had on their website just broken down into sections.
