  1. Wow, really? I mean I guess if anyone was saying something super terrible I could understand that. But it almost seems discriminatory to not let someone in the program based on their comments on a message board, no? Like does everyone who’s been on here have to worry that expressing their frustration to other applicants will prevent them from getting into the program? Thats what the board is for, to discuss your experience (good or bad), I feel like using it as judgment in tandem with the application seems unfair...maybe that’s just me?
  2. Yeah I turned in an application to the Moorpark program after this one, they received twice the applications and I heard back and already went to orientation. The fact that they take this long is ridiculous. And right around the holidays too, I feel bad for anyone who needs to relocate to attend this program.
  3. Does anyone have a PDF from the info session they might be willing to email me? I am working on my application still and just want to make sure I don’t miss anything! Also wanna make sure I’m doing this right: for experiential background, do they want just clinical experience or any job experience? I don’t have any “paid work” experience in medicine yet, because I’m switching careers. I’m nervous to give the wrong information! thanks in advance ?
  4. I wish I could help you out but still no letter on my end lol
  5. Did you ever get an email?
  6. I haven’t gotten an email either, but several friends of mine who are transfers also already got their letters of denial. I don’t know how they’re sent out or what determines the order. One friend and I turned ours in the same day, another turned hers in after we did. They all got theirs already. Just gotta wait it out! I’m sure with those points you got in. Best of luck!
  7. Both are great schools. I’ve heard mixed things from people in all the local programs (Ventura, Moorpark, CI, etc). Everyone has differing opinions. In my opinion they’re all great programs with excellent pass rates. People I know in the industry swear Ventura is better than both, but CI is great because of the BSN. I’ll be applying everywhere. You can do an ADN to BSN bridge, and it does take a little extra time but if BSN is your goal sometimes that’s an easier route. With the ADN first, you’re still taking the NCLEX at the end. You can work in nursing while you apply/attend a BSN bridge program. I would consider applying to additional local schools, not just those two. Both are super competitive, and I know people who are currently on their 2nd or 3rd cycle of being waitlisted at Moorpark. It’s good to have options ?
  8. If I remember correctly, you can be admitted to the school but not necessarily the nursing program. For me, since I’m a post-bac student I am only allowed admittance to the school if I’m also in the nursing program, but for people who don’t have their previous bachelors degree it’s the opposite. You can be admitted to the school, and still not get in. Did you apply as an undergrad or a post-bac?
  9. Oh that’s great congratulations! Good luck ?
  10. Waiting is the worst! I haven’t applied to any other programs yet, but I’ll be applying to Moorpark’s ADN when spring applications open, as well as CSUN’s ABSN, and probably Ventura, and wherever else lol Im working on finishing up Microbiology and some places don’t allow in-progress. Have you applied anywhere else?
  11. The website says “**Disclaimer about points: This estimated points value is not the final official points. Points are subject to change upon receipt and review of supplemental criteria. Documents that have not been submitted with the supplemental criteria will not be counted towards final points.” Mine says it’s reviewed and then has the ** next to the points. Reviewed just means your online application is reviewed. They still need to review your physical copies of your supplemental criteria. So if it has the ** it is estimated points.
  12. I plan on living at home. I can’t afford to live on campus ? but I wish I could! Having a nursing dorm could be fun!
  13. Isn't that 68/80 score though (85%)?
  14. I think with the CLEP I'm looking at being right around 31 points. How did you prepare for the CLEP? Are you a native Spanish speaker? I'm nervous about taking it, I know you have to score around 85% on it to have it count for the supplemental criteria right?
