CSUN ABSN 2014

Is anyone applying to CSUN's ABSN program (2014 cohort)??? I know their application deadline is coming up but the info on their website is out of date and there's no application available on the site. I tried contacting the department via email and phone but no response/answer. Anyone having better luck applying than me?

I called the financial aid department and they said if the program is part of cal state northridge it is funded by financial aid. However, because it's an Accelerated BSN program we are only open to getting loans.

I was looking at a PowerPoint csun presented during information session and they accept 30 in the summer and 30 in the fall. So the numbers went up actually! I guess that's a good sign

They said the summer ABSN starts the last week of May and the fall semester starts the last week of Aug.

Hi Everyone I just received a letter of acceptance to CSUN, it says Fall Semester 2014 and the major as Nursing. Does that mean I am accepted into the school and the Nursing program? Does the nursing program send a separate acceptance package? Please let me know!!! Thank you!!!!!

I still need to send some transcripts. I hope this doesn't hinder the nursing program decision. do you know that it can affect it. I am sure I will get in the university but what if they don't receive my transcripts on time.

Hello MMarron, the Nursing department sends separate admission letters. I had my interview Wednesday and they said they won't go out until the end of this month. Hope this helps. :)

Hi potential CSUN nursing students!

I just want to let you know that I have not received a phone call regarding an interview. I also have not received any updates regarding my ABSN application. Does anyone know if they are interviewing all chosen applicants? I am just wondering if I should hold on to my last shred of a chance at getting in. Also, does anyone know if they are definitely still conducting interviews? CSUN was and still is my first choice, but it is extremely competitive. I welcome any feedback you have. It helps to talk about it here. Good luck to all you aspiring nurses :).

Hi Mike,

It says we have to send in transcripts to the university by August... I was "provisionally admitted" to the university (not the nursing program) and if I remember the exact date right my letter says to mail all official transcripts by 8/15/14 (or something close to that date).

We just begun opening/processing the applications about 4-5 weeks ago and we did receive another 300 applications this year, so it will take some time before you hear back from us. However, we anticipate to send emails possibly regarding application status/application confirmation sometime in late March. So, be sure to check the email you provided on your hard-copy ABSN application regularly for updates. We anticipate acceptance/denial letters will be sent in April for both summer and fall cohorts.

That is so frustrating! They told me that they would be making decisions the week after my interview and that we would know by the end of this month. This is agonizing.

Just got off the phone with CSUN and they said they will send out email acceptances/denials hopefully next week but possibly the first week of April. They had originally said they were sending snail mail letters so I'm super happy they decided to do email. Good luck to everyone awaiting the news!!!!
