CSULB Spring 2017

Is anyone applying? :) I thought I'd start a thread.

I find that a little more comforting. My writing portion could have been better, but my partner and I totally dominated the verbal exercise.

I hope we will hear something tomorrow, it will be the ninth day, which is the same number of days it took admission committee last year to issue responses. I asked the question after the communication excercise and the response from proctor was that they in fact will issue points and half points for the communication excercise. So go figure...

I'd prefer partial points to pass/fail. Doesn't seem fair to deny someone who got straight A's for years for what amounts to a game of pictionary. Anyhoo its out of our hands I honestly don't know what to think anymore.

I believe tomorrow (Friday Oct 21st) will be the 7th business day after the comm exercise since the committee does not work on the weekends. Therefore, make sure you don't count Saturdays and Sundays as business days :)

Ah I see, I think this is the right one since its from the proctor. Damn, this makes me a bit more nervous now haha.

That pass/fail thing made me nervous  I'm gonna go drink my sorrows away. When I sober up hopefully I'll have been accepted.

Ok, I just called Monalisa Ward and asked about the communication exercise points award. She said you either pass or fail. So, you were right about getting 0 or 2 points!!!! I actually like that more than getting partial points.

Did she say when they'd be sending acceptance letters?

I didn't ask her that, sorry :( A friend of mine called her recently and she said she'd only be able to post stats for spring 17 and send the emails once the committee hands her the results. She wasn't very specific about date since she is unsure herself.

This probably means that admission committee will look at your overall performance. I like it better as well, because during such a stressfull time an applicant can mess up in one section but can do well in another, so pass/fail evaluation method is great and fair I think.

Exactly, I don't believe I missed that many things in order to fail the entire exercise you know (hopefully I am right and my expectations are not broken lol) Good luck one more time guys! :)
