U.S.A. California

Published

Hey everyone,

I want to apply for csulb nursing program for spring 2015 cohort, is there anybody here who is applying for spring also? Do you think spring cohort is easier to get in?

You'll just get an email with your campus ID saying that you will be asked to submit a supplemental application in October. Use that ID for your nursing app.

We may have received ours sooner because our information was already on file with them, but I really don't know....

Just keep checking your email (and junk mail). Also double/triple/quadruple check that your email was correct on your application.

I wanted to take the teas test again but since it became computer based I'm afraid my score doesn't go up . I think I will have less time with computer  so I'm gonna apply with 9.31 score , 

It can only help you to retake the test. They use your highest score, not your most recent.

If you take it at CSULA, it is still given as a paper and pencil exam.. I took it there in December

Thanks Joe! But I thought the supplement app was due by Sept 15th, not October? And hurray for the lowest stats lol!

Yes, yes..

Its September...

I couldn't remember if it was that or October, but I just reread the letter...

"Your Spring 2015 application has been received! I am pleased that you are interested in becoming part of the California State University, Long Beach community. As a prospective transfer applicant, you will be considered for admission based on the major you selected. Transfer applicants must meet minimum CSU Upper Division Transfer eligibility requirements to be considered. Admission determination is then based on major specific criteria including lower division major preparation, General Education Courses, and minimum GPA. In September, we will invite you to complete a CSULB supplemental application on-line where you will report your progress in completing the CSULB major specific requirements including your Summer semester grades and updated course plan for Fall. Remember that all major specific course requirements must be met by the end of the Summer semester for Spring admission consideration. I urge you to carefully review the CSULB transfer website for details of the application and admission process."

I'm so nervous ,

Go to the ATI website where you register for the exam. You have to make an account so you can register...They will have all the available dates and locations for the area you choose.

Does anyone know what they should report on the supplemental application for nursing if you took an AP class for English Comp?

Also, I am trying to find a post on how exactly to calculate your score….so if someone knows how, I will post mine up!

Another question, does an A- and an A both count as 4.0? I heard from someone that they don't count the minus/pluses

1. I'm not sure about the AP course...

2. There are no +/- grades. Any score of 90+% in an LB course is an "A" and counted as 4.0. It's nice when you're at 91%, It's horrible if you get an 89%.

3. TO CALCULATE THE POINTS:

I've put my scores in bold, just replace with your own...

4.0 = (4.0 x 1) ----------------(SCIENCE PREREQ GPA x 1)

2.0 = (4.0 / 2) ----------------(PRE-REQ GPA divided by 2)

1.826 = (91.3 % x 2) ---------(TEAS OVERALL PERCENTAGE x 2)

1.800 = (90.0 % x 2) ---------(TEAS MATH PERCENTAGE x 2)

ROUND TO THE HUNDREDTHS PLACE = 9.63

With the TEAS that I already submitted to Long Beach, I have a 9.63. (they have it on file from last semester)

If I send them my other TEAS score, from the first time I took the TEAS, I will have a 9.66 (YES, I SENT THE LOWER SCORING TEAS TRANSCRIPT BY MISTAKE)

I am pretty sure my 9.63 is good enough, and I don't want to spend more money for the other TEAS transcript.

What do you all think? is 3/100 of a point, to get to 9.66, worth another $27 ? :facepalm:

Of course not , because you will get to the program with 9.63 , that's for sure . I'm the one who should be worried about her score with 9.31 not you

I don't think anybody has higher score.

I have a question , do u know of any other schools that accept spring applications for bsn ?
