CSULB Spring 2015

Published

Hey everyone,

I want to apply for csulb nursing program for spring 2015 cohort, is there anybody here who is applying for spring also? Do you think spring cohort is easier to get in?

I have a question. I'm trying to apply for Spring 2015 on the CSUMentor application, but it won't let me because I'm considered a lower division student. On the transfer website though, it does say that CSULB is closed to lower division transfers with the exception of a limited number of Nursing students. How can I be considered a nursing student if I'm applying to get INTO nursing? Has anyone ever had this problem?

You should contact admission and the school of nursing immediately. They are the only ones able to give you that kind of accurate information in regards to your individual situation.

Hey guys, do you know what address to send our TEAS transcripts to CSULB? It says "Ship to" then first name and last name. What do I put there and what's the shipping address?

Kevin,

You just choose Cal State Long Beach from the list of schools, and then click the arrow that brings the school into the box on the right.

The shipping address requested is the address as it appears on your CREDIT CARD that you are ordering with.

The School you choose will receive the transcript, and the school knows that the Nursing Test Transcripts go to the Nursing Department.

Honestly, I have a 4.0 gpa, and got a 91.3 on my TEAS. However, just having micro "in progress" got me rejected in the Fall application pool.

LB is one of those schools that you MUST have all your science prerequisites done BEFORE applying. Especially with the science GPA being comprised of only 4 classes, and micro being a 5 unit course, it is weighed heavily in your entrance score.

Bottom line: You can only apply TWICE to Long Beach. An 8.1 is not nearly competitive enough, and you will waste one of your attempts.

I also recommend to everyone that they take the TEAS exam TWICE. Most schools allow repeats, but you must wait 30 days before retaking the exam.

This means that you must carefully plan to take the exam at least a month before the due date. This way you can wait 30 days, retake the test, and have time to submit your highest score.

Quick question.. Does anyone know if you get docked any points for having W's on your transcript? I had to drop anatomy one semester but i retook it and got an A. As a transfer student they said they don't look at Ws as long as you have 1 or 2 Ws its fine but if there were a lot then they probably won't consider you. But they never said anything about the W affecting your score. Anyone have experience with this situation?

Yes, I asked the Nursing director the same question last semester. The program only looks at numbers. W's are not counted in your GPA, therefore have no affect on your. acceptance.

Thanks Joe! Then after retaking my TEAS I have a 9.83 :woot:

So I contacted them, and they told me to send in a paper application to the school! I'm really worried that I won't get in because I have one science prereq in progress (microbiology) AND I'm a lower-division applicant! I have a score of 9.23 right now. Do you guys think I should take the TEAS again? I got 86.7% overall & 100% in math. My prereq is really bringing my score down

I have a question, how do you calculate your points?

So I contacted them, and they told me to send in a …. so far I have a 9.23…..

Your prerequisite is what will hang you….

Are you sure about your score so far???

Assuming you have a 4.0 GPA--and only have micro in progress--your highest possible score (counting your TEAS) would be a 9.178. How did you get to 9.23?
