CSULB Nursing Interview Fall 2011!!!

Published

Hello! I'm new to allnurses.com and I hope I can fit in with you guys :D:redbeathe

I'm surprised that no one else has started a thread about CSU Long Beach's nursing interview for Fall 2011! The Interviews begin next week and isn't anyone out there as nervous as I am! I live in Norcal so the long drive down to Long Beach, will hopefully be well worth it!

I have only gathered small bits and pieces of information about the interview for CSULB and if you guys would like to share what you know with me; that would help a lot.

From previous threads on nursing Fall 2010 >> https://allnurses.com/general-nursing-student/csu-long-beach-452445.html

Yes and No. Possibly, there can be more than 120 applicants, due to the fact that Long Beach did not prepare in advance for the budget crisis. Like I stated, out of the 25 Long Beach Students that applied, the nursing program invited back their alternates (11 from what I recall), and their rejects from spring 2011 who met the Fall 2011 cut off (I suspected Fall to be far more competitive than Spring). And I'm assuming out of the 25 CSULB students that applied did not meet their criteria, so with the budget cut and more spots for CSULB students. Instead of 50% CSULB/50% transfer, I suspect more of 60/40. Good Luck to you all!

Good morning everyone. So I called the nursing office today, and the lady I spoke with said that the results wouldn't be posted for another week or two from today. I don't know about you guys, but this is driving me nuts, I'm so anxious to know already. Especially since I need to pay my deposits for CSUSB and CSULA by May 1st.

I've been reading about the whole budget issue on this blog, and I'm curious, why is a transfer student more expensive than a CSULB student? Also, I remember hearing in the meeting that the program was fair game; I didn't know that a certain number of spots were held for CSULB students.

Hope to hear from you all. Let me know if you guys hear anything different about the list.

wow, another two weeks; this is insane! did you guys hear from the csulb admissions? I don't know if I got accepted to the University; I think they will let me know but I am more worried if I got accepted to the nursing program

@havfunwlife: are you csulb students? how much will the nursing program cost per semester?

Hello again! Well, it's one - two weeks (hopefully one). I heard this from the actual nursing department.

I'm a transfer student from Mt. Sac. I've already been accepted to CSULB, but to be honest with you, I'm not sure what the cost is. I qualified for the cal grant, so I guess I didn't worry about it so much.

how did you figure it out you got accepted to csulb? did they contact you? I haven't heard anything from admissions, I've been worried about the Nursing Program.

I received a letter telling me I was accepted. Call admissions and ask about it if you are worried. I applied to the EOP program, so that may be why I found out already, I'm not sure.

I just got a call from nursing office now and I am in!

I cannot decide whether I should go to CSULB or SDSU. Which is better, anyone?

runranrun: They called you about the BSN program? Why would they tell me a week or two from now? I didn't tell them my name or anything.

When did they call you? What did they tell you?

Are you a transfer student, or CSULB student?

What were your stats?

I just got a call too! Congrats!

IMO I believe both programs are good. Are you close to either school or would you be moving? I too got into SDSU. I live in SD so I will most likely be choosing SDSU over CSULB.. less disruption to my life ^_^

---- called me 2. They only accepted 25 transfer students according to her.

Hope everybody get calls 2....guess the list should be up at the Nursing office.

I couldn't pick up my phone when they called me around 12:30 so they left me a voice mail. Now I just called them back.

They said I was accepted to BSN program and asked me if I wanted to take my spot even though I have to take a language program. (English is not my first language and I have some difficulty speaking English.)

I'm a transfer student.

My stats are

Science prerequisites: 4.0

GE prerequisites: 4.0

Teas score: 86.7

Math score: 97
