Hello! I'm new to allnurses.com and I hope I can fit in with you guys :redbeathe
I'm surprised that no one else has started a thread about CSU Long Beach's nursing interview for Fall 2011! The Interviews begin next week and isn't anyone out there as nervous as I am! I live in Norcal so the long drive down to Long Beach, will hopefully be well worth it!
I have only gathered small bits and pieces of information about the interview for CSULB and if you guys would like to share what you know with me; that would help a lot.
From previous threads on nursing Fall 2010 >> https://allnurses.com/general-nursing-student/csu-long-beach-452445.html
I was accepted to both university itself and nursing school today. SDSU is five semester program. I do not know if they offer summer course work or not though. I stopped by nursing office at LB this Monday and a lady at office said that it would take another two weeks. So I guess they will let us know on April 25th at the earliest. If you find out anything about what is going on in nursing department at LB (especially about admission of transfer students), please let me know.
I got the same call too. From what I was told, for the Fall 2011 pool, only 25 CSULB students applied and there was more than enough room to fill in the CSULB student seats, and due to the budget cut, they'll will be accepting more CSULB students over transfters, so transfers are still accepted. So basically, they're calling back CSULB students who met the cut off line for Fall 2011 cohort, who either got rejected or was on the alternate list from spring 2011. Hope that cleared things up.

Does that mean they are going to accept less number of transfer students...?
Little RN2b i think if you have at least 9 points out of 10 u should be fine. Im just guessing since the people who are being called are around the 8.6 . So if a transfer has around the same score as a csulb student 8.6 or something, then i think they would pick the csulb student over the transfer. this is just my guess but not really sure

congrats on your acceptances to SDSU. did you guys get accepted to the university or to the nursing program already? wow - seems like SDSU is the only CSU (other than SFSU where I was flat out rejected
so far that has started making decisions. i know that fresno nursing dept won't make decisions until mid July, san bernardino nursing dept won't even begin reviewing applications until may 2nd earliest and i'm not sure when sac state nursing dept will begin making decisions...has anyone heard back from sac state nursing? i kinda of threw all my eggs into the CSULB basket. is SDSU a 2 yr or 3 yr program? i'm going to call CSULB also tommorrow.
