CSULB Fall 2014

Published

Hey everyone!

Did anyone else apply to CSULB for Fall 2014? The school app was due last Saturday, and then we have the month of January to submit for the School of Nursing.

Based on previous threads, it looks like we are invited to an interview about a month after the deadline, and the cutoff was ~9.1 points.

Here are my stats so we can see how we stand this year!

Science GPA: 3.58

GE GPA: 3.77

TEAS: 97.3

TEAS Math: 100

I think that works out to about 9.4 points... the average keeps rising each year, so it would be nice to see where we all fall!

Good luck everyone :)

well now all we can do is wait. You guys still have a really good chance! Maybe i'll have better luck in spring if they are even accepting transfers

I think they accept 82, but i suppose that's because they expect 10 not to accept the offer…. I know the FAQ says 70, but check the applicant pool statistics.

  1. Spring 2012
    • 234 Generic applicants (81 admitted, 67 ineligible, 167 qualified alternates)

    Fall 2012

479 Generic applicants (82 admitted, 143 ineligible, 336 qualified alternates)

    1. Spring 2013--No transfer students admitted due to budget cuts
      • 88 Generic applicants (71 admitted, 9 ineligible, 81 qualified alternates
      • 452 Generic applicants (82 admitted, 137 ineligible, 315 qualified alternates)

Does anyone know how many transfers CSULB will accept for this Fall 2014, and for Spring 2015?

Here is how to calculate your points!

Science - Your 4 Sciences GPA /4.0 x 4 = ? points

Gen Ed - Your non-Science (4 classes) GPA /4.0 x 2 = ? points

Overall TEAS - Your Overall Score x 2 = ? points

Math TEAS - Your Math Score x 2 = ? points

Example:

Science - 4.0/4.0 x 4 = 4 points

Gen Ed - 3.6875/4.0 x 2 = 1.84375 points

Overall TEAS - .893 x 2 = 1.786 points

Math TEAS - .900 x 2 = 1.800 points

Does anyone know when they will send notification? I heard sometime around mid-march to april...

Isnt it all just based on points? (Regarding how many transfer students get in)

I think interview invites go out in early march (according to the PDF on the nursing school website). It says that interviews are held approximately 30 days after the last day they accepted applications. But last year it was almost 2 months

yes, as far as transfer students go, its all point based. They don't hold a certain number of slots for "just transfer students". Transfer, 2nd degree, and current CSULB students all compete for the 80 or so spots they have open solely based on their total points out of 10.

Okay, thanks sarah0987 for clarifying!

Turned in my updated transcript today. Does anyone know what the nursing class schedule is like? How many days per week? Hours?
