CSULB Fall 2012 BSN

U.S.A. California

Hi!

I think the CSULB School of nursing recently post new pool statistics including those who were chosen for Fall 2011.

http://www.csulb.edu/colleges/chhs/departments/nursing/docs/PoolStatsFall11.pdf

Knowing that the rating average is 8.91/10, that seems like a huge difference than the previous semesters!

Anyone else planning to apply to CSULB Fall 2012 BSN program?

Thank you Lavender. I have just checked SBCC. There is still opening. Was it easy for you?

I am not a online person becasue English is my second language, reading and writing are hardest part. I like talking though.

By the way, I like your puppy. I go to a dog park with my puppy every other day.

Submit your app online. Print the prereqs verification form and fax it to them today so you can get approve to register. In the mean time email her and let her know your situation and also that you're in the process of getting your paperwork together. So if it closes she may add you. She was nice enough to do that for me. Surprised it's still open. It normally fills up very quickly.

As for the class rent the book online and knock it out. It's VERY DOABLE! The only thing may be the pace will be a little faster because of summer. As long as you stay on top of the schedule you should be done. I don't see language being an issue, but if so once in the class just email her. She actually responds.

WAIT!!!!!! Is it the teacher with the the first name "L" I think it's the first name. Then listen to what I'm saying BUT IF it's the one whose first name starts with a "V" and she has 2 last names then listen to nothing that I've said. I didn't take her class, BUT if the email response that she sent me while I was trying to get into one of the classes last year is ANY indication of her teaching style or personality (or lack there of) I WOULDN'T recommend her. On the other hand of she's the ONLY one teaching the class for the summer and you want to get it out the way, suck it up and don't let her stop you. Uh oh. Makes me think about the instructors we may be encountering very soon.

Oh and thanks. I see your puppy in your pic. Very cute, but don't let mine fool you with his cute face. He's a spoiled brat! LoL

For those of you doing capstones in the Fall, I'm thinking of signing up for DANC 373I - NONVERB COMM INTERAC MIND BODY. It sounds easy enough. Let me know if anyone else will be joining!! I just wish we could get our nursing schedules ahead of time so we could choose our capstones accordingly.

Also, does anyone know if Saddleback's FN 50 - FUNDAMENTALS OF NUTRITION is accepted by CSULB? I'm thinking of just going for it even though it starts at 7am so I don't have to deal with it in the Fall and pay a higher price for it as well.

Lol. I looked at dance too and thought the same thing. I wish that we had our schedules as well so that we would know. Worried that by the time we know the "good capstones" may be gone! BTW when are we allowed to register for classes?!?

I have no idea! I tried registering online but it said I don't have access to enrollment at this time. I read earlier though that some people already know their registration date. I wonder if that's because they are continuing CSULB students.

Thank you. I didn't know if I needed prereqs for those classes. I will call the school today.

My house is close to CSULB. I don't think I can go there to ask questions.

If you are a transfer student and accepted for fall 2012, you may have to wait until orientation day.

I just looked through the list of capstones on the list that was provided and they look ABSOLUTELY POINTLESS! Especially if you already have an AA, AS degree etc and/or have completed all your GE's. I feel as though it'd be a repeat to have to take this classes. I'm not at all excited about having to waist my money on them. When I read that capstones were required THIS was not at all what I has in mind. I thought it'd be a nursing related project like most other schools.

I agree... to some extent. But all GEs are pretty much bull, they're classes that are supposedly suppose to make us knowledgeable and well-rounded students, but most seem pointless to me. With that said, I think it's nice to be able to take non-nursing classes. We will have enough nursing classes that we will be SICK of them.

You won't be able to register for non-nursing classes (capstones) until your registration date which should be your SOAR date.

For those planning to take nursing summer classes, unfortunately schools that usually offer them, won't be due to budget cuts.

Pharmacology won't be offered at GWC this summer.

Nutrition won't be offered at LBCC this summer.

Nutrition will be offered at Saddleback this summer, but none are online so this can't be an option for most.

Does anyone else know other CCs that have nutrition classes that are transferable?

So sad. Most likely won't be able to get pharm and nutrition done before 1st semester :(

I'm thinking I'll do Nutrition at Saddleback over summer. It's only 5 weeks long, Tuesdays and Thursdays 7am to 11am. Anyone else want to take that on with me?? :(
