CSULB Fall 2012 BSN

U.S.A. California

Hi!

I think the CSULB School of nursing recently post new pool statistics including those who were chosen for Fall 2011.

Knowing that the rating average is 8.91/10, that seems like a huge difference than the previous semesters!

Anyone else planning to apply to CSULB Fall 2012 BSN program?

I planned to, but since CCs aren't offering the classes I need, I guess I'm not.

Sooooo for the transfers we ALL have to participate in SOAR before we can register for classes. Well unfortunately for us, it seems the EARLIEST we can go to SOAR is Wed. July 18th!!!! That sucks. Was hoping to get it out of the ways and do Capstones this summer! Oh and BTW way it's ALL day from 8am-5pm AND it's $62!!

I just wondered which one is more popular between trisemester and basic.

I have been in school for a long time. I am interested in trisemester though, I hear that it is really hard.

There are only one week break before and after summer session. Also, economy is bad now. Is that a good idea to graduate sooner?

Do you mean June 8th?

I have been to SOAR when I first came to this school. It was included lunch and catalog.

They take you a tour around a campus. I don't need a tour though.

Nope unfortunately I meant July 18th. If you log into your MyCSULB account and look for it. It'll be there along with a bunch of links explaining what SOAR is. Yes it did mention a tour, lunch?, and a catalog. When you look it up it says that EVERY student must participate ( you shouldn't have to since you've already done it) and that it's $62 and there is NO fee waiver for this, and it attempts to explain why it's offered so late.

I think what we'll be doing on the 8th is STRICTLY related to the nursing department only. I'm sure they'll introduce some faculty, choose basic/trimester groups, go over uniforms, physical exams, etc.

Although it wouldve been great to do it all so we could register for the summer if we wanted to.

I see. I have just checked MyCSULB. It says that I don't have to go because it is only for a new student or a transfer student. When I got in CSULB 2008, it was $50.

It was very boring. Lunch was horrible.

Hahaha thanks for the heads up on lunch!! I better bring extra cash with me!!! Lol

Everybody check your emails. We got another email. Looks like this one includes our contracts so maybe they won't be coming in the mail. Also when you guys read yours does part of it already seem as though you've been selected for one program or the other (basic/trimester) according to the "language" used?!?

Ok. Never mind I just made a call and the Admissions Coordinator said its just worded that way. EVERYONE is admitted to the Basic program. At orientation you will state your preference. If there's enough for each group then that's the way it will be. If NOT they'll be a lottery held to fill the group that's short. She said there's 40 Trimester spaces 32 Basic spaces and Veterans have spaces as well and they run on a 2yr system as well. I cant recall the EXACT number of spaces she said there were for veterans I do believe that it was a low number. Whatever it was it certainly didn't equal up to 90 people accepted for the program as the website says they normally accept. They definitely accepted less this term.

Lastly just a little bit of info for any alternates wondering. We have to accept or decline their offer by May 4th.

Lavender: I don't get the email yet. Was it like contracts? Do we have to return the email?

What time did you get it? I'm sorry for a lot of questions...

I got it at 12:58pm. The first part was very similar to the original acceptance email. It said congrats etc. It says that the contract is attached. It has 2 attachments. One is the official acceptance letter and the other is the contract with your personal stipulations and you have to accept or decline and return by may 4th.
