CSULB Fall 2012 BSN

Published

Hi!

I think the CSULB School of nursing recently post new pool statistics including those who were chosen for Fall 2011.

Knowing that the rating average is 8.91/10, that seems like a huge difference than the previous semesters!

Anyone else planning to apply to CSULB Fall 2012 BSN program?

I honestly have no idea how many interviews there are, it was roughly an estimate since lucy got an invite last minute it made me think 10-15 more got interviews. But we can find out EVERYTHING for sure tomorrow! Have you noticed we have all speculated and freaked each other out by all these numbers when we aren't certain of any of them?! Haha!

I don't think anyone was able to confirm that only 68 students were being accepted this fall. I just mentioned that when I went to the information session last November the speaker said they planned on reducing the number of cohorts to 68 because of the budget cuts.

DarkBluePhoenix-I'm going to show up really early too, so maybe we will find each other. I'm hoping I will find one of the helpers to check my room number. I'll be in a black blazer, black slacks, black heels, with a purple top, and I have long brown hair. My name is Chloe so if you think you see me say hi! I'm anxious and excited to meet some of you =]

By the way, are you guys doing anythinggg at all to prepare?!? I know they said there's nothing we need to do, but of course I'm a nervous wreck!

I didn't get a room number mentioned either. All she said to me was that it would be in the "board room." I hope I don't get lost. I'm sure there will be people around to direct us to the right rooms, though.

Once again, good luck everyone!

If you think that you can do it, then go for it. You could probably do a capstone in your first semester since you will only have Intro to Nursing, Communication, and Pathophysiology. In my opinion, the hardest classes this semester are Intro to Nursing and Pharmacology. If it turns out to be too difficult then you could always drop the capstone before you can't get your money back. Do whatever you think you can do. Are you guys able to take Summer classes at CSULB as transfers or can you not start classes until the Fall?

The Nursing building is really easy to find. It's the second building on the right if you enter off of Bellflower Blvd. There is a parking lot next to it that fills up quick so I recommend turning left before you reach the Nursing building on Beach Blvd and park in lot 20 and walk over from there. The interviews are most likely going to be in the Student Learning Center which is in the old building closest to the parking lot. There will be lots of Nursing students there to help you so don't worry about getting lost.

That is exactly what she said, 'board room'

Whatever that is...

Flying,Thank you for the advice regarding capstones! :) I am not sure if transfer students can take classes during the summer before they start the nursing program. Even so, I will be working full-time M-F this summer so unless the class is offered online I don't see that option as a possibility. I am transferring with all my lower division GE courses completed though so at least I know there's a few semesters where I will have fewer units and this time to take a capstone.

Good luck to all of us today! :)
