The Nursing building is really easy to find. It's the second building on the right if you enter off of Bellflower Blvd. There is a parking lot next to it that fills up quick so I recommend turning left before you reach the Nursing building on Beach Blvd and park in lot 20 and walk over from there. The interviews are most likely going to be in the Student Learning Center which is in the old building closest to the parking lot. There will be lots of Nursing students there to help you so don't worry about getting lost.

If you think that you can do it, then go for it. You could probably do a capstone in your first semester since you will only have Intro to Nursing, Communication, and Pathophysiology. In my opinion, the hardest classes this semester are Intro to Nursing and Pharmacology. If it turns out to be too difficult then you could always drop the capstone before you can't get your money back. Do whatever you think you can do. Are you guys able to take Summer classes at CSULB as transfers or can you not start classes until the Fall?

I am in the basic program, and I have 2 out of 3 capstones done already, all of my GEs and I did not do pharm and patho ahead of time, but I did do nutrition already. My friend has all of those done so she is only taking 2 classes this Spring, lucky her. When do you guys get acceptance letters?

Haha no, no more competition for me. I like it a lot. I mean, sometimes I'm like "What did I get myself into?!", but I've been told that it gets better after the first semester so I'm looking forward to that. I can answer any questions you guys have. OH! And I would highly recommend getting your blood titers done and working on any immunizations that you may need ASAP. Just because you had the immunizations doesnt mean you are immune, so get the titers done. You need Hep B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella and Varicella. Wait till later to get the Influenza vaccine and the 2-step TB test. This is only a part of the Health clearance required and it can get pretty expensive, so start saving up now.

I'm at school on Monday, Thursday and Friday. Monday's I have to be at the hospital at 6:30am, Thursday at school at 9:30am and 9:00am on Friday. I do work, but very limited hours. I'm going to try and find a place in Long Beach for next semester but if I'm not able to and we end up having classes on the same day then maybe we can carpool. Good luck everybody! Oh, and for capstones I recommend Literature and Medicine, and Comic Spirit with Prof. McLoone. I still have one capstone to go but I enjoyed those classes. There is a lot of writing involved in the capstone classes so if you are doing the basic program then you should probably try to take care of the capstones over the summer to lighten your load during Fall and Spring. As for the interview, don't worry about it too much. I thought I did terribly and I got accepted, so apparently I didn't do too badly. But if you are doing trimester program, it's the GE classes and the capstones that you need to get out of the way in order to lighten your load. I'm not trying to talk anyone out of doing trimester, I just want you to be informed about how difficult it is going to be, whether or not you are used to a quarter or semester schedule.

I recommend doing the basic semester myself. The basic is already so hectic, so doing 15-16 units in 12 weeks rather than 18 sounds like a nightmare to me. But if you truly believe yourself and are willing to give up a lot of your free time to studying, then go for it. I also recommend trying to move closer to Long Beach. I live in Pasadena and commute to Long Beach 3 days a week and I have to leave 2 hours early so that I can be sure to get to class on time. It usually doesn't take that long, but it has before. It's especially a drag to have to wake up at 4:30 am to make sure that I get to my clinical on time. Just do everything in your power to make this easier on yourself, because it's already gonna be tough.

I just got my acceptance letter! Woooooo! So freakin happy!

I didn't have enough time to finish the short-writing part and everyone else was eager to get their answers out so I was always last to answer questions in the group discussion. And with one of the questions, they moved on to the next question before I could get a chance to answer the question. I should have said something but I don't like interrupting people. I dont know, I am probably over-reacting but I just really want to get in. Somehow I have to tone down my worriedness since we wont hear back from them for 3-4 weeks.

Thank you! Your scores are impressive as well. I transfered in for the current semester as a chemistry major just in case they wouldn't accept transfers for Spring 2012, and so that I could get used to the area and the school.

I also got an email on the 5th for the interview, which was my birthday so I was incredibly happy. I set mine up for the 10th at 11 in room 36 I believe. I'm feeling pretty good about it because I got a 9.63 out of 10 on the application. 4.0 Science Prereq 3.6 General Prereq 92% on TEAS 100% on Math TEAS
