Hi!
I think the CSULB School of nursing recently post new pool statistics including those who were chosen for Fall 2011.

Knowing that the rating average is 8.91/10, that seems like a huge difference than the previous semesters!
Anyone else planning to apply to CSULB Fall 2012 BSN program?
Yes, hopefully we all make orientation (not being alternates, hahahah). I am not from Pasadena, more east of there, but I always say Pasadena.
Yea maybe I can find a roommate or something that is a fellow nursing student like myself. That is if, I get into the program! Cross fingers, we all do!
Jessic: If you read this thread, and past threads, then you will see that you have nothing to worry about. Some of the professors and staff just watch and see how you communicate with others and give/take directions. There is a video you discuss and answer questions to after you watch it. It is to see if you can pay attention to detail. Also they want to make sure you can read/write/speak/understand English. That is about it. Dress up, bring a write utensil and be yourself! What time is your interview?
Jessica! My name is actually Marina. I am totally excited to meet you at the 9am interview :) are you planning on continuing to live in Irvine if you go to CSULB? Also, like Phoenix said, the interview should be easy if you speak English well, keep calm, be yourself, and talk a lot. We can do this guys! Crossing my fingers for everyone :)
> cal_nature_girl,
My name is Yasuko.
I am little bit nervous. In addition, as I am shy, could you talk to me if we have a chance? I try to talk a lot :)
Yes. If I go to CSULB, I will continue living in Irvine.
It takes around 35 minutes to get to there with no traffic, though.
>cal_nature_girl and DarkBluePhoenix,
Thank you for the information.
I should be confident and keep calm.
Good luck to us all!
Jess, I think you will do fine! Maybe you and Mari could meet like 15 mins before interview and chit chat. It might help to walk in with someone cause I least that person can understand, and you wont be going in alone.
Thank God my friend and I got the same time that way we can carpool and figure out everything when we get there. Anyone for the 1pm interview want to meet up early to meet and chat? If so, let me know. Somewhere close to the building or the parking lot, cause I wont know where to go.
Yasuko,I am aiming to get to CSULB around 8:30 am so if you want to get there early we can talk for a bit in front of room 26 (that's where my interview is and I am guessing yours is as well) before the interview. I would love to help you keep calm :) we all deserve to get in and I don't want a little nerves to stand in anyone's way.My commute will also be about 35 minutes since I will be coming from the UCI area. Not too bad, but who knows maybe if we both get in and do the same program we can be carpool buddies :) We'll see how it all works out!
Marina, I will be happy if you get to there around 8:30 am and chat with me :)
I will be there around 8am due to my previous appointment.
My room number is also 26.
How many people are there at 9am? I hope I will be able to find you :)
Oh my goodness! I also live near UCI area.
I hope both of us will get in the program and be carpool buddies.
Since gas price is more expensive than before, carpool is a good idea :)
Yasuko, I can't believe we live so close to each other! We may just get to carpool together if we both get in :) Are you planning on doing the basic or trimester program? I am hoping to get into the trimester program so I can keep down my cost of living expenses. Also, my friend who had the CSULB interview about a year ago said there was about 6 other interviewees in her interview so I imagine its around that number.
I recommend doing the basic semester myself. The basic is already so hectic, so doing 15-16 units in 12 weeks rather than 18 sounds like a nightmare to me. But if you truly believe yourself and are willing to give up a lot of your free time to studying, then go for it. I also recommend trying to move closer to Long Beach. I live in Pasadena and commute to Long Beach 3 days a week and I have to leave 2 hours early so that I can be sure to get to class on time. It usually doesn't take that long, but it has before. It's especially a drag to have to wake up at 4:30 am to make sure that I get to my clinical on time. Just do everything in your power to make this easier on yourself, because it's already gonna be tough.

You'll be commuting from Pasadena...ouch! I am coming from Irvine so you definitely have the right to complain! Perhaps you should move closer if it fits with your budget? And one of us interviewees definitely should ask about when they are planning on telling us if we got in! I'll be interviewing at 9am so I sadly will not be meeting the 1pm group who have been chatting on here. Hope to meet you all at orientation :) keep your hopes up!
