Hi!
I think the CSULB School of nursing recently post new pool statistics including those who were chosen for Fall 2011.

Knowing that the rating average is 8.91/10, that seems like a huge difference than the previous semesters!
Anyone else planning to apply to CSULB Fall 2012 BSN program?
She is probably getting flooded with so many e-mails! I can't believe CSUSB lets us know in July whether or not we are accepted. It is so late compared to every other school. Do you know how long CSULB gives you before you have to make a final decision?
You will be given approximately two weeks to let them know of your decision. Many people do get admitted to more than one school, so it is imperative that they know as soon as possible. This is to give the alternates a chance to accept if there are spaces left open by students who decide to attend another school.

I know right!?!? That is waaaaay too late!
I bet its a week or so to decide to accept. I hope it would be less than that, just so people who dont respond in time can give their spots away to us alternates teheheh jk lol
I'm very grateful to have gotten an interview invitation and so I hate to sound ungrateful, but if 9.11 is the cutoff, and I have a 9.2, I'm most likely an alternate. I'm scarred and nervous. I don't want to get excited and not get in after the interviews, so I'll hold off on my celebration.
I knew the averages would be high, but I didn't expect them to be this high. I can only imagine what the average is. Maybe around 9.5 which is ridiculously high!
Congrats to all the transfers and second degree students who got an invite. I won't lie though. I'm disappointed that so many of you guys took up spots from CSULB students. I won't be surprised if well than more than half accepted for Fall are non-CSULB students. But at the end of the day, it is all a NUMBERS GAMES. It is what it is.
Congrats to everyone who got this far! For those who didn't get an invite, don't lose hope! There is next semester and other schools! Best of wishes to everyone.
If you have not received an interview invite by now, then it is unlikely that you will be offered admission. They always send out more invites that slots, so they choose the alternates from those not selected after the interviews. If you have any specific questions about your application, call the nursing office and they should be able to tell you the status of your application.I don't know the final count of applications received or how many invites were sent out, but I think they said 120.
Thank you BeachsideNic for providing us with more details. I, unfortunately, was not chosen this semester. I will be back for spring 2013 with a much more competitive score though, and have pharmacology, pathophysiology, and psychology all out of the way!
Congratulations to all of you that were chosen! It is a long road to get this far, and such an honor to get in to the program!

There are considerably fewer applicants for the Spring, so it is a good time to apply...Good Luck!
Hi Everyone! Can someone PLEAE tell me how to calculate my score so that I can see where I fall in for the cutoff. (Even though i may regret asking after finding out because it may drive me crazy) I recall, before actually submitting my application, that there was a DETAILED EXPLANATION of the point system. Not just 2 possible for this and 2 possible for that. How do you know exactly where you fall in within that range? For whatever reason it is no longer on the sight or for whatever reason I just can't find it (although I've been online looking for the last 30 minutes) So if anyone could please help me I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks for the help and Congrats to all of those with interviews. :-)
your science gpa is worth 4 pts, so you just take your direct score. For example, my science gpa was 3.47 so so far i have 3.47 points. If you don't know how to calculate your gpa you can find a gpa calculator online.
Your general gpa is worth 2 pts, so you just divide your gpa by 2. Ex: my gpa was 3.5/2=1.75
Your teas math and teas overall are worth 2 pts each. so you just take your percentage in those categories, convert it to decimals, and multiply by 2. (ex: my overall was 92.7, so its .927*2=1.85400) (my math wass 100% so i get the full 2 pts.)
So totally it's 3.47+1.75+1.85400+2=9.07
Or...you could post your stats and someone will figure it out you.
Congrats everyone who got an interview!!! I didn't get one. So seems like my 8.9 (or what I calculated) just isn't good enough but wow if the cut off was a 9.2, this year was really competitive! I'm sure if I called, I would probably get the same message as lucy and nursedevs so I guess I'll try again Spring semester. For some reason I stopped getting e-mail updates from this forum.
@DarkBlue: Gosh I hope you get in!!! With all the crap admissions is putting you through at least the silver lining is you got an interview --- Own it! Good luckkk!!!!
