Hey everyone so I have been waiting for a couple of years to finally have all of the pre-reqs done to be able to apply to nursing school. I am finally finished and am just waiting for CSULB-elmsn's program which will start in Fall 2011. I want to know who else is planning on applying so we can have each other to go through the process with and I'm not going to lie I would really like to see what the competition is like. Hi Everyone! First off congratulations! I am really looking forward to meeting you all. ---- told me to check out this forum a while back, but I am only now getting a chance to look into it. All of the posts have been so informative and helpful. I know we are going to have such an awesome cohort!

There is a good chance that I am going to have to miss orientation on June 10th. I am 39 weeks pregnant today and I am going to have the baby anytime between now and 3 weeks from now! I really wish I could go to the orientation and get the information myself and meet my fellow classmates, but I will most likely need a proxy to get the information for me. Would anyone be willing to help me out? I would be SO appreciative!

First off congratulations! I don't really live close to you but I will definitely be at orientation and will be taking notes... Hi Malefocker! Could you please be my proxy too?! I will be having a baby (our first!) sometime very close to orientation and will not be able to attend. I am so bummed I will have to miss this chance to get to meet everyone for the first time, but I am so excited that I will be having a baby any day now! I tried to figure out how to send you a PM, but I guess I have to make 15 posts before I have that ability? Please let me know! I would be so grateful.

Trying to finish up the health requirements as well. Starting to feel like a pin cushion lol.

Princesspea! Thank you so much! Are you expecting too? I am so nervous about starting a new career and becoming a mom in the same year! It is so good to know that I am not alone.

allnurses.com won't let me send private messages until I have posted 15 posts. Can you send me a message and I will try to reply to it with my contact information? I will call ---- on Monday to ask her if there is anything specific that I need to do or if I can just make sure that I get any missed information and handouts from you.

@chaberae No, not expecting now but was a few years ago while trying to finish up a fall semester. My little one thankfully let me finish the class lol. Becoming a mom is such an amazing time. Take lots of pictures (I'm a photographer so I'm bias lol) they grow up so incredibly fast!

I'm so glad that there is going to be a fellow mom in the program. I have so many more questions for you, but I will wait until I can send them in a private message. Thanks again for your help!

Does anyone know if the things due at orientation (titers, vaccines, etc) are really due on June 10th? Is it a strict deadline? Reading between the lines, it seems like they just want us to get started on everything so that we can ask questions at the orientation and so that it gets done by August 15th, which is when everything is supposed to be uploaded to the online tracker. Did anyone happen to ask ML or get the same feeling?

That is my understanding as well... I should really get going on that stuff :) I mean that we should just get started on those things and need have them complete by aug 15th

hello,

I have a question about this program..i think its stupid but ill ask anyway..if i want to do the elmsn at long beach..i know the first 16 months is to get your bsn then the next 18 months continue to get your msn..I was wondering if you can leave the program once you get your bachelors or are you required to finish the whole program?
