CSULB BSN Fall 2018

Published

Hi all! I wanted to start a thread for folks who are applying to CSULB starting Fall 2018. I would love to hear other applicants!

To get into the SON you just need your prereq done but to transfer into the school you may need to have a certain number of units or a certain number of GE units so look online at what transfers need to get into the school

Hi guys, first of all congrats to all of those who get accepted into the nursing program this might not be related to the year I am trying to apply for but, I was wondering if you guys can help me. TIA

I am currently taking classes at Cerritos College, I just need one more class to be able to transfer ( political science) I am done with the nursing program prerequisites and I am planning to apply for spring 2019. My question is if I am not able to take the political science class can i still transfer and get into the program and just take it next summer or do I have to be done with everything before I apply? Thank you so much for you time.

I believe you need a minimum of 60 transferable units, min of 30 CSU GE included, and at least a 3.25 gpa for nursing. I think if you don't have 60 transferable units, you will end up having to make them up while in the program, so I've heard. If Poli Sci is the only CSU GE you have left to complete, you should try taking it at other colleges. LBCC offers it online and in person.

Did anybody hear anything yet outside of the supposed top 30? I am also a post bacc, but it sounds like it is a mixture of 70 people who still didn't hear anything. I think this is getting ridiculous. I've heard back from all schools at this point and even some that had deadlines around Long Beach's. I was actually told before the exercise that it may take 7-10 days which I knew was very ambitious so I asked again during the exercise who told me 3-4 weeks. I don't like that we aren't being informed anything and are only given some possible ideas about possible funding and clinical issues based on some of you guys who were able to get through a call with the SON. I am in a very pressing situation where some programs I applied for start in May which are extremely costly. Yes, a couple weeks away. I already put in the deposit there and am going through clearances and such as much as possible as I slowly continue to wait for the final word on Long Beach. I just can't give up these other options and possibly not get into Long Beach. It would leave me with no acceptances. It just seems like they are keeping us completely in the dark which is very upsetting.

Basic, Trimester, and Accelerated Program

So I was reading the link posted above, and it explains that 30 of the 70 students get accepted into the semester program, which I believe is funded by the school. It also states that the other 40 spots are funded by long beach memorial. So I think those of you who are still waiting to hear something still have a chance, considering that there were some people who unfortunately recieved a wait list email, or a rejection email. Maybe they're just working out the funding. Although it sucks, I don't think the SON can definitively accept the other students until funding has been approved for the 40 slots of the trimester program.

Also it has info for the person who asked about admission minimums. Lol. Hope this helps. I think soon it'll all get worked out.

It says that who gets into the semester program or the trimester program is determined by a lottery. oh. my. god.

Does anyone know the length of the trimester and semester programs? I assume the semester program is 3 years but I am not sure how long the trimester program is. 2 years or so?

hey kitkat191, which college did you do your prerequisite courses at?

Trimester is 1.5-2 years. Semester is 2.5. This cohort will all start at the same time. But then trimester will move ahead because they will take their 3rd semester in the summer, which would have them finishing spring 2020. Whereas, semester will finish fall 2020, since they don't take summer classes.

Also for any other vets out there, BAH rates are going up to $2900 from $2500 starting this fall. We're rich bois!

HELLA DOPE! Where did you hear that motherfucker?

Just search bah rates for la 2018 for e5 with dependents
