CSULA Fall 2021

Published

Hi all!
I just wanted to create this forum for students who are applying to CSULA Fall 2021 for the BSN Nursing track in case we had questions for each other, wanted to share thoughts, stats and to support each other through this journey.

I was wondering if anyone has applied and knew if CSULA requires verification for volunteer hours in their NursingCAS application portion? Also, will they accept any amount of volunteer hours under 50? I know you can add a document. Thank you!

Okay, perfect! I did that. I just want to make sure I'm not missing anything.

HI everyone ! Current Pre-Nursing student here ! I got the email 10 - 15 minutes ago. So happy to meet everyone!

Hello ! Are you a prenursing student at CSULA or at another school

Ugh I haven't gotten any email yet. Did anyone get on a waitlist? I'm getting mixed answers from people from previous years and I'm wondering if they're doing a waitlist this year or not.

I'm a prenursing student at CSULA. I'm actually a first year student. This year the nursing major rewrote the course roadmap to allow first year students to apply. So, I wonder if that shifted the number of applications they received this year.

I don't think they notify you if you are on their waitlist. I think they'll just contact you if someone declines the offer or drops out.

I don’t believe cal state LA does a waitlist. I think they just deny you and then if enough people deny the spot, they offer admission later.

I believe this is why many who did an official appeal ended up getting accepted because many people deny their spots, bc the people who appeal really show they want to be in the nursing program (this is just a theory of mine)— I just noticed many who appealed ended up being contacted later on. Some not until like May, June

Really? Many who appeal get in? :0 By the way, Ninja, when you emailed them, how long did it take for them to get back to you?

Ninja didn’t really appeal. He just emailed the person who sent the emails out today and asked why. Then she reconsidered and talked over with department the app I presume and he got in. But he didn’t do an appeal off his posts in last yrs fourm.

Hi, I actually got into the program after appealing the decision. I appealed right after I got my rejection on 03/17 and I did not hear back until 06/8. It was a VERY long wait. I emailed her a couple times in between to check on the progress.

That's awesome! You story gives me a lot of hope. I sent in my appeal 1.5 hours after I got my rejection. May I ask what your stats were?
