CSULA Fall 2021

Published

Hi all!
I just wanted to create this forum for students who are applying to CSULA Fall 2021 for the BSN Nursing track in case we had questions for each other, wanted to share thoughts, stats and to support each other through this journey.

I was wondering if anyone has applied and knew if CSULA requires verification for volunteer hours in their NursingCAS application portion? Also, will they accept any amount of volunteer hours under 50? I know you can add a document. Thank you!

Yeah it is. Guess it’s on overload LOL. The scary hours are Real

Yes if it says admitted in the portal you are admitted. They would not change your portal if you are not admitted. Expect a letter soon

Ninja. Do you know about if there’s a waitlist cuz I notice in older documents there were a waitlist but it never mentioned it here in the new document so I wonder if those accepted is that number and no waitlist or keeps a waitlist for those who deny them get next up

I don’t believe cal state LA does a waitlist. I think they just deny you and then if enough people deny the spot, they offer admission later.

I believe this is why many who did an official appeal ended up getting accepted because many people deny their spots, bc the people who appeal really show they want to be in the nursing program (this is just a theory of mine)— I just noticed many who appealed ended up being contacted later on. Some not until like May, June

Oh really in May or June? I didn’t think they did that since it’s late already and all that. I’m definitely gonna appeal once they make offices for me cuz my stats don’t define me as a future nurse ya know since my stats are good but they see it as mediocre maybe. Heart and grit is what stats are

By "came off an appeal," do you mean people who appealed their admission decision to get into the program? If so, I know two people who appealed and were offered admission.

I'd give it a solid 7/10. My experience hasn't been terrible, but there is room for improvement in some areas. It's difficult to fairly rate the school's performance thus far because of everything that's bein going on with COVID. Some stuff is out of their control, but there are things I believe they could be doing better.
