Hi all!
I just wanted to create this forum for students who are applying to CSULA Fall 2021 for the BSN Nursing track in case we had questions for each other, wanted to share thoughts, stats and to support each other through this journey.
I was wondering if anyone has applied and knew if CSULA requires verification for volunteer hours in their NursingCAS application portion? Also, will they accept any amount of volunteer hours under 50? I know you can add a document. Thank you!

Pretty sure if you only applied as nursing then that’s it. I remember reading someone got their email a day after their portal changed. Maybe ninja can give more clarity there

I know it’s hard to get excited when you haven’t gotten the official admission letter yet, I get that. But know if your portal is a green circle and says “Admitted,” and nursing was the only major you chose, you are in. Everyone who had this happen got in. Mine said “incomplete” and I was denied. But then I called and emailed faculty and my portal changed to the green circle immediately after talking to them and I got the email the next day. So my point is, green circle is GOOD. Get excited ?

I had A’s to the courses reviewed for eligibility for PACSON (Anat, Chem, English, Stats). Then 92% on TEAS, and volunteer experience. Finished all the prereqs and non pre reqs too. Not local to LA but OC.

Anatomy, Physiology, Chemistry, Microbiology, communications, English, Stats — if I recall correctly. But they also look at overall GPA as well.

So Cal state LA used to have a criteria, but as of 2 years ago (the cohort ahead of me), they basically told the applicants that there was no solid criteria. However, they may have changed that now so I’m not entirely sure if this is the case for you guys.
I remember a lot of us were very confused on what exactly they were looking for. All we kind of knew is that they look at overall GPA, pre-requisite GPA, TEAS score, volunteer work, and work experience, but we were unclear how they broke down all of that when picking applicants. Some of us asked faculty personally and they said they just look at the overall application. Like I said it could have changed now. Unfortunately they were very transparent about the point system and no one really knows what they are looking for.

That’s the worst part that we don’t exactly know what they looking at more or less. Like how do you rank them and all.

OMG congrats! I checked mine and it never updated. Does it stay incomplete if you get denied or waitlisted?
