CSULA Fall 2013 Basic BSN hopeful

I wanted to start a thread for students who are applying to CSULA fall 2013 traditional BSN program. Anyone already applied and as anxious as I am to hear the news in April? And if there are any current csula nursing students stumbling on this thread, please share your experiences, tips, or warnings.

Thank You LWang.. I'm nervous bc my points are around the point cutoff for last year. i hope I get the letter by friday. The anticipation is killing me.

I live around Fresno, CA area. How long do you think it will take for me to receive my letter?

If they mailed out your letter yesterday, you should be receiving it by tomorrow

I really hope so.. I do not want to wait a 3 day weekend to get the letter.

Got my letter.. well.. not really. I have notified the nursing department many times that I changed my mailing address. I even drove 4 hours to make the change in person. Despite of my efforts, my letter still got sent to my old address. Luckily, I have great neighbors and they were able to tell me over the phone that I am on the WAITING LIST. I was expecting it.. and I'm grateful that its not a rejection letter. Now lets hope that a space becomes available for me :)

That is good news! I'm glad you got a response today and did not have to wait until next week. You are right, being on the waiting list is A LOT better. I talked to the person in charge of sending out letters today and she told me that they are getting really strict with the enrollment deposit for students who are transferring to CSULA. She said that if people do not send in their deposit by June 3rd, then they are losing their spot and people from the wait list will be contacted. Don't lose hope! :)

@Nessa.. Thanks for all the information you've been able to gather form the SON. What about people in my situation who is a transfer student and not accepted yet? Should I pay the deposit by june 3rd? I wanted to call the SON to ask.. but they never pick up the phone!

I think u'd better call the office to ask whether they got enough students or not;but the physical tests package has not been sent yet, probably they are still waiting for responses. I heard that students on the wait list probably won't get a refuse letter even they have enough students.

@ Lwang, I never have any luck when I call the SON, no one picks up. I just emailed --------------, hopefully she responds soon. According to last year's thread, a student on the waitlist was offered a spot in mid July.

Ok, it is possible that u get the offer in July, because some schools give offers at a very late time, like CSUSB.Students might give away their offer at that time. Don't worry, I will let u know when I go to CSULA next time, and if u have questions, just let me know, I can ask.---------------- is good at replying emails, (from previous experiences). Be patient.
