I posted this in the California forum, but I think it got lost so I'm posting it here!
Who here is applying for the CSULA nursing program for Fall 2014? What are your stats? Have you taken the TEAS exam yet? I'm excited!
I have not taken the TEAS yet, but have my date scheduled for Oct. 25th.
The upper division GE's are chosen by theme.

You choose one theme, and pick one class from each category.
Hopefully many spots open up for y'all. Being right at the borderline, must be incredibly nerve racking....
Also, FYI:
everyone be sure to have your health insurance in order. I know many of you are young, and covered under your parental unit's work plans.
However, for those that are a little older, we must have our own health insurance, and proof of it, before beginning the program.

Yeah for reals... I got thrown under a loophole with obamacare... Very frustrating. I don't know if I have health insurance or not! Will definitely be inquiring soon if I get accepted.
I'm ecstatic about obamacare...lolIf you make low enough income on paper, you get free Medi Cal.
... I am employed at my college as a tutor, but most of my income is cash from private tutoring; so I got free insurance....
Obamacare is great. However, even though I have no income, I do not qualify for medi-cal because my boyfriend makes too much and we have a child together.. I can't go on his insurance because we are not married even though he pays a buttload. Medi-cal wants to see income from him which will disqualify me. I tried to apply on my own without putting my daughters name on there and they never got back to me.
We will see what happens
If he claims you as a dependent, then you are absolutely correct. He probably has filed you+daughter as dependents.
Im no accountant, but i think you would have had to file taxes separately to not have his income counted.
My girlfriend also makes too much. That's why i dont file with her. It's cheaper for her to file independently, and pay for her insurance, than it is for us BOTH to pay for insurances.
