CSULA ELMN 2011

Published

Anyone else applied? I know they're supposed to notify us on April 1st but I'm curious if anyone who applied got any feedback yet. :)

Lol, I didn't think it was a scam until I saw his wife's e-mail. Haha.. If it's not a scam, $450 a month with all utilities paid for AND furnishing.. that's like hitting the jackpot!

$450 for an apartment in Beverly Hills, sorry but that deal is way to good to be true  If this is a scam and I'm pretty sure it is, I love the way he is calling himself Rev. David Cook. You would think if he was a rev. he would be able to write a little bit better... just saying

Yeah, seriously right? David Cook...come on...at least think of a better name hahaha!:p

Congrats to those who got in! I am a 2012 hopeful, so I've been following this thread. I have a quick question regarding prerequisites for those of you who live in the LA area. Did you complete the Human Nutrition prereq prior to applying? Where did you take the class? I can't seem to find an equivalent course at any of the LA community colleges.

Thanks Rosepetals, Sam & Rpatil for the info on financial aid!

Hi Lilpeapods,

Try using Assist.org. You can find the articulation agreement between various schools. I am currently taking Nutrition and will be completed with the pre-requisite in May (right before enrollment!). It is also my last pre-requisite that I need to take. I believe that you can still have a pending pre-requisite pending while applying for the program, as long as you get a confirmation from ms. Hinoki that it is okay. I also think they give priority to students that have completed their pre-requisites beforehand.

Hope that helps and good luck!

thank you 5unshine! i just checked out assist.org. it appears there are no equivalent courses listed for Nutrition 250. hmmm.... maybe i have no choice but to take it at CSULA. i was hoping to find a cheaper alternative as well as one that's closer to my house. an online course would be even better!!

are you currently taking the class at CSULA?

Hey lilpeapods,

I'm not from the LA area, but have some friends who went to Santa Monica College. I hear they have many online courses too. I'm not sure if you are near that area. But anyways, I just checked out assist.org for agreement between SMC & CSULA for Nutrition 250 (CSULA) and the course equiv. at SMC is Nutrition 1. I choose to sort "By Major" and then checked "Nursing, BS".

Thanks, bbdog322!! I didn't think to look up SMC. I just checked Glendale Community College and all the LACC's. I'll look into

SMC for sure.

I'm in the process of getting my blood work done! I also need to get my BLS CPR certificate renewed.

But I'm also as nervous about financial aid, loans, etc. I feel like I'm in the dark about it, but I guess, at least we are in the same boat together!

Anyways, I think we should make a facebook group (if it hasn't already been made), so that at least we can match username and faces :)

I'm taking it at Cypress College, which may be a little far from you. But I know they should probably offer it at LATTC and LACC. I believe they are listed under Health or Family and Consumer Studies. If you want to verify if the classes, you can always verify it with the admissions office :)

@lilpeapods-sorry can't help you there, but look into online nutrition classes because those would be a good fit so you don't have to travel too far.

@5unshine-You should totally make a facebook group! I think all of us are eager to join! :D
