CSULA ELMN Fall 2009???

Hey,

Did you all send a copy of your transcripts directly to graduate admissions (aside from the one we sent to Ms. Hinoki)?

The reason I ask is because my GET website thing says my app to the school is incomplete and I think that might be why...hmm...

I think you're coming into LA from up north, right? The admissions representative that I spoke to said that it was better to walk in your official transcripts. You might be better off bringing them with you and handing them in on Friday. I have a friend that applied to CSULA's master's prog in Applied Mathematics last year that had to go and get emergency transcripts after having had her university mail them directly to the CSULA. Admissions claimed to have never received them. If you're going to be here, you might as well hand them in directly and avoid the risk. My :twocents: ..good luck!!

I really am praying I get a call or email for an interview, but I am having doubts now. Everything on my app is top notch, although I fear my TEAS scores are not as high as I would have liked them to be. Does anyone know how much the TEAS weigh in on the app evaluation and if one of the four categories is lower than 70th nat percentile -- altohugh it still was individually 90%!!!! --, if the app is still even considered??? Thanks so much

Thanks for your advice, this is definitely not a bad idea! My only concern would be that the graduate admissions office wouldn't be open on Saturday. I appreciate your :twocents: !

Hi guys,

I got one of those acceptance letters too, to the general University. I'm already happy I'm "sorta" halfway there. And yes! I am anxious too about hearing (or not) back from Kathy.

Regarding sending in your transcripts: when I applied to the University, I called the Admissions office to ask about it. They said that when you send in your transcripts, write your CIN on it. Otherwise, your transcripts are more likely to be misfiled.

What I did was include my "Application Submitted" page with my transcripts. It's the last page you get after you successfully submitted your app to the school. I figured that had everything on it to make sure it went to the right place.

Hey guys!

I have a bit of an update. I just talked to Kathy. When I asked her how much longer should we be waiting to see if we're going to be interviewed, she said that she wasn't sure. She's got a good number of interviews set up already and will have to see how that goes before she feels it's necessary to call and set up more. After the acceptance list is made, she's also going to make a waiting list (which is ranked). She said historically there are about 1-2 students who decline and the 1st-2nd people on the waiting list get in.

OI! I don't know how to take this. Part of me feels there's still hope and another part feels like this whole thing is already over. From what I gathered, she's already set up interviews with more than 20 people, for the 20 slots.
