CSULA BSN Program Fall 2018

Hey! I wanted to start a forum for CSULA fall 2018. I have been looking everywhere for one! Anyways, just wanted to talk to others about their apps and such. This is kind of a nerve wracking experience, and I wanted to compare points/progress on the application. I tallied my points and I have 25. I hope it gets me in. Fingers crossed. I have also applied to a bunch of other schools, but CSULA is the dream :)

I would like to extend my congratulations to those who have been accepted so far! The CSULA School of Nursing is a great one and I hope you guys are ready to experience three years with each other!

It would be smart for someone to start an FB page for Class of 2021, so you guys can meet and be comfortable with each other prior to starting the program!

Also, do you know which hospitals they do their clinicals?

yes, I compeletely agree with you, it's most probably our acceptance letter. I didnt pick any alternative major so it's either i get a rejection or an acceptance letter right away. But, it is also said that admission to the SON is not confirmed until the email comes from themí ½í¸© I wanna believe that the emails we got are the real thing buuutttt this is mentally tormenting me. Maybe it's best if someone calls the SON for confirmation about emails on Monday to know for sure

I'm sure it is the acceptance letter, as it says that you can pay the $100 fee to reserve your spot.

the communication exercise email went out last week for CSULB as well as the acceptance email for CSULA!!

Sorry to break it to everyone, I called and the SON told me that the emails we received are not admission to the nursing program. SON program will send out admissions the first week of April.

On behalf of Cal State LA, it is my pleasure to offer you Fall Semester 2018 admission to the Nursing program."... this is what i recieved this morning... does this mean i am in the actual program or just the school.. i am confused.. i thought we were supposed to get 2 separate notifications or something.. can someone help me out here please

That's what I received when I got accepted. If it is acceptance to the Patricia Chin school of nursing then you have been accepted to the school of nursing!!! CONGRATS! Welcome! Did you get any letter from the school for addmission?

That is weird. We got out admission letters around the same time and it said "On behalf of the California State University, Los Angeles Patricia A. Chin School of Nursing, we are very pleased to inform you the you have been selected for admission to the Generic Baccalaureate Nursing class..." Did it say anything about confirmation deposite?

I called and confirmed as well, it is not our acceptance into the nursing program. Also if you paid your $100 enrollment confirmation deposit you cannot get it back even if you are not accepted into the nursing program. Seems wrong to me, and honestly quite "scammy" (couldn't think of anything else).

uhhmm i dont know. i talked to someone earlier from the admissions and i asked if it's possible to get an admissions letter to the nursing program from them yet get a rejection letter from the SON and they said that it's not possible.

so i called the SON for confirmation, and they said that they will have to send out the official letters on april. so i asked if it means that the emails we got does not guarantee admissions.... she said that it's not that it's not guaranteed, they just have to send out the "official" letters on april. and she was kind of emphasizing the official part. so from my understanding, the letter we'll get on april is most likely just for formality, they were just not allowed to mention anything about it...... I guesss....

i dont know why theyre making it so hard for us with all these nerve wracking waiting.. im like just say if we're in or not. as simple as that. LOL

Also did the email say, School of Nursing Final Decision? Maybe it is the acceptance letter but since deposits need to be made before April (if thats the case) it just means they still need to figure our who is attending and who is not. I hope it's just a misunderstanding and everyone who got acceptance letters are in!!!!
