CSULA BSN Fall 2017

Published

I realize it may be early, but I wanted to start a thread for the CSULA Fall 2017 nursing program. I'm sure we will all have a lot of questions about application deadlines, volunteer hours, TEAS, etc. It will be nice to have a community where we can ask each other questions and offer advice. Eventually we can share stats, and we may even end up in the same cohort!

Hey Rachel I sent you a PM, I wanted to get the inside scoop on how you like the CSULA program and how demanding it is

It's a great program, IMO. It does demand so much time away from school to catch up and study, so expect a lot of reading. Our Pharmacology class has 10 chapters assigned in one lecture day - it's terrifying haha, but you get used to it.

The program itself is, as Rachel said, kind of disorganized due to the recent quarter-semester conversion. So, I think just be patient with them. I can't wait to meet you guys this year!

@RachMayJ-

How has your class schedule been like? Like is there a lot of gaps or can you fit all your classes in 2-3 days?

Both last semester and this semester my classes have been 3 days a week. :) Thats including the upper division general education classes I'm also taking. I think there were a few people who had to do 4 days a week last semester. It depends on the lab schedules.

Has anyone heard anything back from CSULA SON lately?

My friend contacted them and they said they will make a decision more towards the end of the month. Last year they sent out the emails in April.

We should start posting more on this forum to keep up with the decisions! I'm so nervous! Did you guys apply to anywhere else besides CSULA?

My GET portal status changed to a green check mark but i dont know if it has anything to do with the nursing program.

Mine status at the GET portal says admitted too, but that doesn't mean we got into the nursing program, unfortunately. My friend contacted the department just last week and they haven't made a decision yet.

The wait is the hardest part! I agree we should keep eachother updated with every little update!

I am applying to Mount saint mary's university(ADN program) and Mt sac as back up. Have you applied else where?

I just received an email saying I was accepted has anyone else received anything? It says to send the $100 enrollment deposit by March 21
