Published

Hello all,

I am surprised that there is not a single thread for east bay for fall 2016.

Anyway, I am just curious the statistics for admission and know some potential classmates form this site.

GPA:3.75

TEAS:90

have healthcare experience.

Thanks in advance for your inputs.

Hi! Congrats on getting into both programs! It sounds like a tough decision. You really need to weigh the options and decide what factors matter most to you! Is it location, timeline, teas scores and reputation of the programs? Personally if I had the choice between a BSN and an ABSN, I'd go with the accelerated but that is because time is probably my #1 factor! I really want to start my career soon, not 3 years down the line. That is just me though, what is YOUR most important factor? Congrats again :) as hard as it may be, it's a good decision to get to make!

Thanks for getting back to me. Time is my big factor as well. Correct me if I am wrong, csueb nursing program is 2.5 years right (not including summer). Also, location is another big factor because I want to live close by home. Right now I am in LA, and I really want to go back home. Plus, CSUEB tuition is really cheap (~$2200 per quarter). Today is the last day to accept/decline my offer.......Arrrrrrr. :nailbiting:

It is 2 1/2 with no summers at the Hayward Campus! How long is the ABSN program? Sorry youve got such a tough choice to make :(

It is 16 months (1 year and 4 months). There will be day, night, weekend classes I believe. But tuition is not too bad. The whole program is around $14000.

Wow that's fast! It also sounds like they would be about the same price wise. Do you think you will be up to the crazy fast pace? I know some people thrive like that but I'm not totally sure I could do it! Do you have kids or in a relationship? Those things would make it harder to keep up.

Yes, that is super fast, and honestly, I don't enjoy pressure at all because I personally have difficulty making decision (that's why I am here. LOL). I don't have any kids

Hello!

Congrats to those accepted.

For those on the waitlist, I have been told by the nursing department that they have already accepted 20-25 from the waitlist. I myself am in the middle third so I am hoping they make it to the middle third. I've been told that they often contact the middle third of the waitlist by the end of the summer.

Has anyone else inquired about the status of the waitlist?

Thanks!

Oh really? When did they say this? Ughh I am somewhere in # 1-25 and I haven't heard anything back at all! Still crossing my fingers! I know how much this wait sucks :/ I desperately want to be able to plan. I hope you don't have to wait until the end of summer!

Yes, really! I emailed the dept on 5/25, they responded 5/26 stating that they had sent out 10 offers to students from the waitlist and that they would be contacting 10-15 more from the waitlist either the week of the day she emailed (5/26)me or the following week which would be this week. That is where the 20-25 comes from. If you haven't heard back yet, they most likely have yet to send out the 10-15 offers she spoke of. So be sure to check your email daily, if what she says is true, and you are in the 1-25 third you have and offer coming soon. Fingers crossed for you!:)

Reading my original posting now I see where the questioning may be coming from. I should have written they have sent out offers to 20-25, not accepted 20-25. Sorry to alarm anyone in the top third!

I will see if I can edit.

Thanks!

Correction**

They have sent out 20-25 offers to those on the waitlist. Not sure if the 20-25 have accepted, also they may not have sent out 10-15 yet, maybe sometime this week. Check your emails!

Thanks!

Thanks for sharing that makes me feel better! But yet all the more anxious as well. I haven't heard anything yet and I'm going crazy. I may email in the next few days and see what they say so we can compare info then! No matter what, you have a really good chance of getting in! It's just the wait feels like torture :/

I called the department also and was not able to get much information. Just that they had sent offers to a handful of people in the top 1/3. I know this waiting is killing me and I have so much planning to do before fall. Hopefully, we will all hear soon. Thanks for sending updates. Good luck to everyone!

Stay positive everyone!
