Hi everyone... I decided to make a thread for all of us Fall 2015 applicants at CSUCI. I'm kind of surprised no one has done so yet. If anyone wants to, please list your stats and your point total so we can see who CSUCI let's into the program and try to figure out what the cutoff is this year in terms of points. It will help students in the following years understand their chances of getting into the program as well.
Here's what I have:
Core GPA=4.0= 9points (I got a W in physio)
Overall GPA=4.0=6points
TEAS English and Reading Score=98th percentile=6points
TEAS Math Score=100 percent= 5 points
Resident of Ventura= 4points
Military= 4points
Volunteer Hours= >200= 3 points
Total= 37 points
Hopefully you guys can post too. Good luck to everyone!
Here's the supplemental criteria info if you need to calculate your points: http://nursing.csuci.edu/programs/suppcriteria-2015.pdf
I just went into the nursing office as well. I received a rejection email, but never received emails stating that my documents were received. I had a very good GPA, scored high on TEAS, had volunteer hours, and more. I went into the office and the woman stated that sometimes they fail to send the "documents were received" email to some candidates. "its not guaranteed you will get the documents received confirmation, sometimes we dont have time to send it to everyone." This makes me nervous because what if they never even looked at our supplemental documents?
When I was in the office, a girl there came in saying she received an email that she was accepted, then an email that she was "recalled." Apparently end of day they will send out actual acceptances once they look over the applications missed. This feels unorganized and strange. I've worked for 3 years to gain entry in a program and I feel that I am not even being fairly evaluated.
Seriously, this is so strange. I am putting in a complaint and speaking to the Dean and President -------------. The application process should not be this messy. It's inexcusable that they are saying they failed to look over some applications. Ugh.
BTW guys. I asked the nursing woman how many times you can apply to the program. The limit is two in a lifetime. It does not state that anywhere on the application or on the website, but the lifetime limit is two. After two applications, they will never look at your application again. What a strange policy.
Maybe they caught the problem before sending you an email. They have to send you something before the end of the day.
I received this email:
Earlier today, an email message was delivered then the message was recalled. This means that the email was initially sent in error and that your application is in review. Please be patient you will be receiving email confirmation before the close of business today.
Thank you, Nursing Program
Let's hope that we all got accepted. Please update whatever email you get so we can all be aware of what is going on.

I thought of writing a complain letter. It would be unfair to tell me that I am in and suddenly tell me that I am out.

It does seem to be very poorly put together unfortunately. When I applied to CSULB, I got update emails at every step of the process and got my acceptance about a month ago. No hiccups or issues. Something happened where it seems that a lot of people didn't have their actual stats calculated properly.
It's really unfortunate though because people who got accepted are getting them rescinded which I can only imagine is heart breaking and nerve wrecking. I just hope this all comes together properly this time around and hopefully anyone who got waitlisted or accepted doesn't get rejected.

Hey future nurses, I have created this account on the purpose because if was surprised that i received an e-mail stating that " we had a competitive pool of applicants and regretfully your application was not accepted into the class of Fall 2015 ". I had 33 points total, according to the criteria and recieved an email April 2 about the nursing department receiving all my required supplemental items. From what i have read it seems the nursing department has - is not reliable at the moment. I was nervous 33 points was not enough points so i tried researching how much points would guarantee you accepted online and came across this website. I have checked the properties ( if you want to too) and it checks out to be a legit source from CSU channel islands. Check for yourself and please comment because i just dont know now that i was declined. (The file is a slideshow , please refer to slide 10). Wish for the best, thanks guys for your comments and output on the current situation.

I haven't received any emails at all. This is confusing!
